Electrical Interferece In The Speakers

On my '05 CCSB, started hearing a 'whining' sound coming from the left front speaker whenever the fan blower is set to positions 2-4. The whining stops when I open the driver's door (cabin lights activated). The sound isn't proportional with vehicle speed (hence I'm ruling out the spark plug wires). Does it sound like something is not grounded properly as it is related to that one speaker side or do I need to install some kind of filter somewhere?

Thanks

Do you have an aftermarket stereo? What you describe does sound like a grounding issue.

yes, i do have an aftermarket unit (Kenwood DNX-7100). It had been working fine for the last two years. I had the speakers upgraded in my truck over Xmas with JL speakers by an audio dealer. There was no issues until recently, so a grounding (and a visit to the audio place) may be in order.
