Need Some Opinions...

I really like my truck and all but the regular cab is starting to be a pain. My next truck is definitely going to be a crew cab.

HOWEVER...i do not like the tiny bed on most half ton crew cabs.

So if I want to stay with GM I would have to get a 3/4.

I never really tow anything but that is due to the fact that my half ton has 3.42 gearing and towing sucks with this truck.

I want four doors and a full size bed.

For Tax Purposes

I like being able to load my dirtbike in the bed with the tailgait closed

and I if I had a 3/4 ton I would probably buy a toy hauler to tow.

So I have two choices go with Furd because they do offer a half ton super crew with a full size bed or go with a 2500 GM truck...

What do you all think?

Also what are the power ratings on the 2009 6.0?

Out of curiosity, why is that? Are you going to haul people that often? The EC's have pretty good room back there.

Yeah I plan to Tobias. The reason why I don't haul people around is because I don't have anywhere to put em lol.

Plus this next vehicle is going to have to fit the bill of daily driver/family hauler as well as duty for my trucking business.

Also I love riding my dirtbike in the sand dunes and bringing friends/family along for cookouts out in the desert and stuff.

My question would be your definition of a full size bed. I just looked at the Ford F150 lineup, and there were NO Crewcab trucks with an 8' bed. My 2500HD extended cab has a 6.5' bed, and I think that severely limits my ability to tow a 5th wheel.

Yeah I plan to Tobias. The reason why I don't haul people around is because I don't have anywhere to put em lol.

Plus this next vehicle is going to have to fit the bill of daily driver/family hauler as well as duty for my trucking business.

Also I love riding my dirtbike in the sand dunes and bringing friends/family along for cookouts out in the desert and stuff.

Makes sense. Get the 2500 then. Get a used one cheap with the D-Max and haul 50 bikes at once!

My definition of full size bed is a bed like the one on regular cabs and extended cabs. I don't want a "Long Bed" 8ft bed.

I don't plan on towing a 5er so I don't think I will have that problem.

Furds have crew cab 150s with 6.5 boxes. But I just can't see myself in a Furd again...

I want to stay with GM but having to step up to a 3/4 ton sucks.

Well all of that depends on your Budget. The last thing you want to do is get yourself into a truck that handcuffs your finances. So...whats your budget a 3/4 will be a little more spendy but they are nice.The f-150 can fit into peoples budget a little easier on average and will get better fuel economy. The downside is that they are pretty slow...

I should have been more clear. I was talking about a truck that was a few years old, nothing in the 50k range. If your goal is a house though, I'd suggest keeping the truck you have. I know that may not meet all of your needs but it is going to be the easiest way to save up money. IMO, of course.

Well all of that depends on your Budget. The last thing you want to do is get yourself into a truck that handcuffs your finances. Well a Dmax would be very nice but right now I would rather have a house than a REALLY nice truck.

I do however plan on getting my next truck before I get my house simply because my current truck will be close to paid within the next year and I plan on giving it to my dad so he can use it as his daily driver.

I should have been more clear. I was talking about a truck that was a few years old, nothing in the 50k range. If your goal is a house though, I'd suggest keeping the truck you have. I know that may not meet all of your needs but it is going to be the easiest way to save up money. IMO, of course.

I've thought about doing that Tobias but since I own a business I need expenses if not I get torn a new one when Tax time rolls around.(which reminds me...I gotta stock up on KY soon...)

Why does it have to be new? You can deduct a used truck. As a matter of fact I just did. I used my 07 that I just bought about 6months ago on my taxes.

Why does it have to be new? You can deduct a used truck. As a matter of fact I just did. I used my 07 that I just bought about 6months ago on my taxes.

New is more money. That's the only reason why.

Plus all the 3/4 ton trucks around here are beat to hell.
