Seat Cover Lint Issue

Hey guys,I need your help,Or I should say GM needs your help!

 

Those of you with '07-'08 GMT900 trucks with the famous "lint collecting" cloth seat option....

Have any of you had the new seat covers from the latest TSB installed already?

If so are you happy with them? Are they still collecting lint? Do you have any pictures of them?

Also can you please list the part numbers of the covers that are listed on your repair order.

 

The reason I'm asking is because,as many of you know,I'm the parts manager at a GM dealership,and our GM service rep. wants to know what part numbers they might still be having issues with. He's trying to help us get this issue resolved

 

I'm also having the lint collecting issue as well,but I've held off ordering any new covers until I know the issue is resolved.

My seat covers have been ordered for almost a month now. Supposedly they are to arrive either tomorrow afternoon or Friday morning. I will let you know as soon they get installed.

The main question is are they putting on the same covers I already have. the way it was described in the other thread it sounds like I already have the covers. My covers have a smoother insert (that does not collect lint) and the outer material does collect lint. MY son has the seat that has a different insert and it does collect lint also. Unless they actually change the material we are screwed with the new covers. Mine are still on order and have been for 6 weeks. I am going to check the part numbers when the covers come in. If they are the same covers but with the new part numbers I am going to throw a fit.

But I think your correct,I think the new covers they list in the bulletin are the same as what I already have...Mine also have the smooth insert with the outer material that collects the lint,The LT2/SLE2 trim level trucks were like this.

My 07 and 08 had the shitty textured inserts that collected lint like crazy....my 09 has the smooth center which is nice, but the sides are the same as my 07 and 08...sucks when your wife has a persian cat

Tell GM to pick up an 09 Ram with the Premimum cloth and copy it. It's way ahead of what GM is using for their Premimum cloth. The bolstered bucket seat design is also pretty sweet.
