When I was growing up I remember one commercial best, Like a Rock, Chevy. Good old Bob Seger.......

anyone else think it would be cool to bring this back?

They were good commercials, and it was something people would remember

I think they could? And its still a household association.......

Just seems like a cool thing if GM had the money....... :)

I wouldnt mind seeing some like a rock comericals again. Altough they arent like a rock anymore - how thin the sheet metal is. But then again GM's stock is sinking like a rock as i watch the news. 31 billion loss last year alone.

Hell I still am a chevy / GMC man and think the sierras are bada$$.

Bob Seger ... lol i used to rock out to some of his ballads back in high school days.

I think they ought to do video from the plant floor to the boardroom. With the camera going up to each employee saying thank you to the people of America. Thank you for a second and third chance. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to make an excellent living by doing my job in an excellent manner. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to make you the best vehicle I can as cheaply as I can.

I think they might want to stop sinking LIKE A ROCK... before bringing back that campaign.

I'm with the OP on this though. I loved those commercials.

I can hear it now:

"Our stock is dropping...LIKE A ROCK! Sales are falling too...LIKE A ROCK!"

I really liked the "Lean on Me" campaign.

Just don't lean too hard or you will bend sheet metal...... :)

And of course who could forget....."The Heartbeat Of America" ad campaign used from the mid '80s to the early '90s.

Big fan of Bob Seger, great song.

This last weekend though I saw the commercial with Howie Long and the "man step" again, made me laugh out loud. Gotta give them credit on that one...

Howie has proven that being a retired NFL star doesn't mean you have to be an idiot. He's marketed himself well.

I like the "Like a rock" ads, and I also enjoyed the John Cougar doing "Our Country" for the Chevy ads. Good stuff.

Come to think of it... there have been some darn good ad campaigns! :fume:

The funny thing about it is that the chevys sit too low too need the step. I would of like to have had that step on my 03 2500 dodge though.
