Vibration When Braking

Recommended Posts

Hello, I just bought my 04 Yukon Denali XL back in January, and I've been having vibrations in the steering wheel and brake pedal when I brake. I figured it was the rotors or the pads, so I put new rotors on and checked the pads, which where brand new. I still seem to have a vibration during breaking. I was wondering if it might be CV joints. I'll caveat that with I only looked in the front axle and only replaced front rotors and checked that the front pads were still good.

Also it seems that initially, on the first part of trips or driving to work, applying the breaks are fine but as they warm up, it gets worse.

Any ideas?

thanks!

Must be the back ones that are warped. Vibrations when braking are 99.9% brake rotor related, 0.1% caliper.

make sure the wheel lugs nuts are properly torqued, if not they can distort the rotor and cause it to warp when hot. The rotors may only need to be resurfaced.
