Rough Starting

2002 GMC 4.8L 21k miles.

Started very strangely last night leaving work. Almost like it was running on 2 - 3 cylinders for about 5 sec then 5 - 6 cylinders . . . until after about 15 seconds it was running on all cylinders but roughly.

 

Did the same thing this morning but not quite as badly.

 

Any ideas what might have caused this or if it's going to continue?

Maybe you're fuel pump is getting weak?

Sounds like a fuel issue maybe a weak fuel pump you have the right year for these issues. Also the little connecting hose to the fuel pump could be leaking by and then swelling up and start to run alittle better. But I would start somewhere with fuel!

Problem was diagnosed as a leaking fuel pressure regulator.
