Looking For Colr Matched.....

I have had my truck for a week and need to make some changes. I am looking for some color matched mirror covers that cover the whole mirror (not sure if they make them) and door handles. I also want to paint the chrome part around the grill, and paint the whole front end. I have a few questions I'm concerned about. Can the chrome be painted over, can the plastic part under the bumper be painted, and where can I find the handles and mirror covers?

Anything on your truck can be painted but check eBay for the common parts. You can also use the search feature here as many members have painted bumpers, valances, mirrors, etc.

what color do you need, Gm has some of the colors or GM direct.Then you can always look at ebay like daddy said.

The "chrome" is just a plastic piece, coated in copper, and chromed. You can paint anything as long as it's prepped properly. I'd just hit an autobody place or if you're doing it yourself, and autobody paint store. I'd avoid using the GM "color matched" paint. The autobody places have a wad of color chips (20+ different shades of your color), so they can hit it bang on. The problem with factory canned spray paint is you don't know what paint lot it comes from (those touch up pens NEVER match my vehicles), as well as the paint ages on the vehicle, the shade turns.
