Electrical Issues

I am new to this particular forum and hope this is in the right category. I have a 2002 2500HD Duramax and I am having an electrical issue I could use some help on. My left park and license plate lights are out and I was told it maybe the connection box on the frame rail near the spare tire. I am not the greatest at electrical work and was wondering if someone might have a schematic or wiring diagram of this area for me to go by? All the other lights are functioning properly and I have checked/replaced obvious things such as light bulbs and fuses. More than likely a ground issue? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!! Sorry if this is in the wrong spot. I will get up to speed soon.

yes check that box on the frame. sometimes dirt and other contaiments get into the plugs and cause poor connection. i would do this first. take a look then clean it if need to be. if that still doesnt fix your issue then start checking for bad wires. but good chance bad connection
