Rims For 1997 Chev 2500 2wd

The rim offset for 1997 Chev 2500 2WD (16 inch 6-bolt) is different from standard steel 4x4 rims. The standard 2WD rims are scarce and nearly impossible to find in my area. Tires are LT225/75R16. What is the impact of mounting winter tires on 4x4 rims for the back of the 2WD pickup? Would this affect handling or suspension of the truck?

I live in the city of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada

Hottest economic growth in western Canada.

And despite all efforts of GLOBAL WARMING ... our residential streets are still covered with packed snow and ice, and there is two feet of snow on the front lawn. Main streets are clear and the rest is melting as our days are above freezing now ... I won't be putting these snow/winter tires on this year, but I want to be ready for next fall. My 4 new TOYO All Terrain tires were pretty good in the snow but not good enough by my standards on ice. Next year I want a good open grip studded snow tire to push my 2WD around in the winter time.

i have a question. why do you need winter tires? and where do you live?
