grampadirt Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 Can you guys suggest the easiest way to firm up the shifting in my '95 Burb.Info:K2500,lifted,4:56 gears, rear Detroit,7.4L.I know there are shift kits available. Is there one better than another? I have an aftermarket auxilliary trans cooler(bought from JEGS) which I intend to install sometime soon.. Also I tow my 7,000lb. toy hauler several time a year.Where is the best place to connect a trans temp gauge.I tow in the hottest time of the year here in CA. and go thru our deserts where the temp gets above 100* on a regular basis if that helps any.. so far no probs but I wanna prolong the life of said tranny as long as possible TIA Here's a pic of the Burb
66nova Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 I have a B&M shift kit in my 4L60E and I am very happy with it. I also have the B&M Shift Improver Switch... It made a difference, but with the shift kit and the hypertech installed, I didn't notice a huge improvement. It is cheap and easy to install.

Have you installed a tranny temp gauge?
L29er Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 TRANSGO 4L80E-HD2 I installed a B&M deep sump pan, is very thick alluminum, i drilled and tapped for a probe and read the temp from there!

silveradobobby Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 An easy and best way for the probe is to drill and tap the pan. Yes a VB kit is the best way to firm them shifts.
