I'm pretty sure it won't as these are for 29bit GMLAN vehicles, so unfortunately it's probably only 2007 and above.

do you know if it will work if i dont have the nav. just plain old radio?

Absolutely, I had the same HU in my 2008 before I put in the nav. This device sits inline between your XM tuner and stock head unit.

While I've never used it with an iPhone 3G, I did realize that the 3g cannot be charged through this interface. In light of that, I've dropped the price to $75 + $5 shipping to cover my packing materials.
