Oval Assist Steps Hardware?

Recommended Posts

I purchased a set of the GM oval assist steps for my extended cab, used. I got a great deal but there was no hardware included. So maybe not such a great deal, right? Anyway, was wondering if any list members can help me out on what I need to locate in order to do the install. Any help is appreciated.

You do have the brackets right? I know from installing mine last week that they use 13mm bolts, I think the parts you might have the most problems finding are the clips that you need to screw the bolts into. Any GM dealers on here that can send the mounting hardware?

I do have the brackets. You mean a 13mm head on the bolt right? I figured them to be either a 6mm or an 8mm. Once I know that, I can start to search for the speed nuts to clip onto the body. I also need to know if there are one or two bolts used per bracket. Thanks. P.S> if a vendor has the hardwre, that would be great.

ok this is a hard one, the problem is im not sure what cab style you have so i just picked out a ex cab, most popular style, below is a list of part numbers found in the kit but im working to find a whole kit for ya. you realy need to talk to your local dealer and get them to rob a hardware kit out of a old set. anyway this might help

nuts 11609836 (16)

brkts 19157935

bolts 11519388 w/washers

this is only a rough guess, they dont give me the actual qtys and or whats req. Brackets i assume are universal, except for cab sizes that will determan how many you need. i will get back at you when i find some better info. As said above i dont have the numbers to those clips that are used to hold them to the body.

Thanks Shaun. Just to set things straight, I do have the brackets attached to the steps already. I guess I'm looking for the clip-on nuts that go onto the body of the truck (yes, extended cab) and the bolts, washers etc also. Just the stuff to hold everything onto the truck.
