Sold a PS3 game that I'm not a fan of anymore. Anyways I have only sold 1 thing before on E-Bay. It seems now that Paypal and Ebay will hold your funds if your a seller until:

* The buyer leaves you positive feedback on eBay.

* We confirm that the item was delivered.* We can confirm delivery if you ship the item with USPS, FedEx, or UPS and either use PayPal shipping labels or upload tracking information from the transaction details page. This applies to transactions within the United States.

What do you guys think?

So if i leave negetive feedback, i dont have to pay? Suhweey, j/k. I think that is both good and bad. Good for buyers, less scams. Bad for buyers if flea bay messes up, the seller may never get his money, and the buyer will get a bad rap.

Ebay has gone off the deep end in my book. Now a seller is not allowed to ever leave negative feedback for a buyer under any circumstances. WTF? Along with higher fees, they are now holding payments on some sales.

Crazy.

I don't use fleebay much anymore. I mostly have used it for buying though I have sold several things in the past. Looks like I won't be selling on ebay anymore though.

yeah.. and it sucks because you HAVE to use paypal now.. i know some who dont like it.. because they have large ammounts of money in their bank.. and dont want hacker access at all to it. i liked money orders and etc... becasue there was no paypal fee to me... just another way to make money off you.

They are a bunch or crooks. They purposely allow people to open fraudulent accounts, and when the rightful owner of the stolen credit card initiates a chargeback a few weeks later, Paypal takes that money from the seller. Now the seller is screwed. No money, no product. I had a great business selling Jeep Wrangler parts, but the fraud got out of hand, and it was not worth the hassle. If ebay/paypal (same owners) wanted to reduce fraud, all they would need to do is physically verify the id of the person opening the account. This could easily be done at any walmart, western union,or money gram location. The arrangement wouldn't be hard to do. I'm sure they could find even better locations that I have suggested. They choose not to do this, because they get their money regardless. Be very careful with them.

so thats why transactions with paypal take longer, rather than ordering something one day and getting it a day or 2 days later, now it takes about a business week

I wont lie i really hate paypal. I just bought some new wheels and tires and I sent the money to paypal though a bank transfer and they took it out twice for some reason I couldnt understand. They said they took it twice to make sure I had the proper funds. Now I can only take out 500 a month to put back into my bank account. Thank God I have a great a bank who is fighting with paypal for me to get them to refund the money all at one time!

Thanks for the responses guys, looks like I won't be selling on E-bay anymore. It used to be a good place to unload unwanted crap and get decent money out of things. I probably couldn't sell that game for more than $30 locally, trade in at Gamestop is a joke too.

I can mildly understand holding the money in the sellers account until the item is delivered, but all the buyer has to do is claim the item received is not what was bought, and they still get the item and their money back.

I'm going to make a photo documentary of packaging this game and shipping it.:cool:

I've never had this problem with Paypal. I just transferred about $750 in funds this week with no problem. When I have heard of this happening it has tended to be on game systems. I guess there was a lot of problems (fraud) with these type transactions? I'm no fan of Paypal by any means

I can see that, as it would be very easy to do. Like I said I'm going to take pics of the packaging and shipping so there is no possibility of the buyer pulling a fast one and claiming I gave him an empty video game case.

From now on I'm renting a game before buying it, this is the 2nd time I've sold a game shortly after purchasing.

Hmm, I also withdrew some funds a week ago and had no issues. I also have a premier acct, not sure if that matters.

But their new policies do suck. No leaving neg feedback by sellers and paypal will hold funds at the first sign of a complaint from the buyer. And they pretty much always side with the buyer regardless of what you're policies are on the site. If they say you offer full refund weeks after you're policy states, that's the way it is. It's all pretty stupid and is just begging for fraud to happen.

I've been looking for alternatives, but none have the traffic of eBay and the other payment services are too "unknown." If they do anything stupid like that w/ my acct I'll probably just say screw it go deal with local buyers through craigslist and use cash only. Then all sales really are final.

Bidpay was really good for both buyers and sellers, but ebay didn't allow them to be part of the system as easily as paypal, making them go out of business. The process is streamlined between ebay and paypal. If you have any doubts about how bad paypal is, go to www.paypalsucks.com and read some of the negative experiences people have had. Its too bad that ebay/paypal have to ruin a great market place. There are no real alternatives to paypal. In order to withdraw more than $500 a month, you have to upgrade to a "premier" account.

Oh, I'm well aware of paypalsucks.com. Kinda crazy the amount of people with bad experiences dealing with Paypal/eBay. Sorta defeats the whole purpose of a middle man such as Paypal when they're just as likely to screw you over as the buyer/seller.
