07 Nbs Amp Remote Wire Wiring

I know I can spend $50 and get the PAC unit but I haven't heard good things and on top of that, my amp has a speaker level input so I don't need the audio outputs of the PAC unit.

Obviously, I can replace my deck.

I can just wire it into something else but I want the amp to stay on with the radio (stock, and plays till the door is opened).

I was thinking of hooking up a relay from the battery directly, then piggyback a speaker wire to flip the relay on and off with the deck.

Any other options here? Maybe something a bit simpler? Is there a wire that comes off the deck that could power this directly?

Thanks!

I needed a source much like you do but I was just powering a cigarette lighter so that I could plug my sat radio into it and it would work like what you are wanting. I found from searching through this forum that behind the brake pedal is a box with a bunch of wires running to it. In there is a bluish green connector and it has a yellow wire (I believe its the top left wire in the connector). This wire is a RAP (retained accessory power) wire. I spliced into it, ran that to a relay, and then went off the relay to my cigarette lighter. Pretty simple. If you want more info just PM me.

so thats the wire that keeps everything on till the doors open? Cause I was thinkin that I could also tap into the power windows being that they do the same thing.

I think this is the pics mfennema is refering to.

This spot works great but I've been told the wire may or may not be there on all trucks. So far its been there for my truck and my GM's '07 LT optioned truck.

so is that wired directly into your amps without a relay? What size fuse is that, that you used?

Yes it was directly wired to the amp with no relay. IIRC it was a 3 amp fuse. It doesn't need to be much because the remote on wire doesn't pull a whole lot of current. In fact the fuse for 12v switch power that came with my PAC Bose adapter was only a 1 amp fuse.

Those were exactly the wires I was talking about. I went to a relay because I was pulling more power for a satellite radio but just for a signal on you should be alright with just a fuse.
