Driveshaft Issues

alright i own a 77 gmc half ton truck n recentyl blew up my second tranny so i decided to put in a sm465 4speed manual...right now i have the full time 4wd transfer case(203) but while i have everything tore down i decided to put in a 205...n ive heard that u need to change the driveshafts n i just wanna get another opinion...i plan on doing the swap next week n would like a heads up so i could find a set....thank u

ok so i swapped out the olld tranny and transfer case n got the new sm465/np205 combo put up in there n i definately need a new rear driveshaft its way to short and i was wondering if anyone out there knows the best place to find one...ps. im not rich haha thanks

Maybe a local wrecking yard.

If they don't have one, a GOOD driveshaft place can cut the yoke off of yours...weld the proper length extension to it...reattach the yoke and balance it for not TOO MUCH money.

You'll need to measure the length you need and provide that to the driveline shop.
