Engine Light

I have a 2006 Silverado and I took it to the dealer today to diagnose my check engine light coming on. they told me that code P0446 code was coming up and my "Evap vent solenoid" needed replaced. well after all was said and done I was out $399. Is this typical cost for this repair or did the dealer screw me over?

Yeah, it's typical from work done by the Stealership.

I wouldnt say u overpaid, for getting it done at a dealership anyway. More overhead means more cost

Ok now that you're a member, don't take it to the dealer until you search for the fix on here first. That is about the same dollar figure my dealers told me for the same issue. I researched it here and ordered the part myself, fixed for less than $70. Now I know that will make you sick but now you can reap the benefits of the site.
