hey all, i just joined the site last night, seems like a fun place with lots of info, i drive a Black '05 Chevy Avalanche 2wd and love it, just wish i had the $ to throw around for my plans for it.

i've had the truck for about 2 and a half years now, and someone finally decided they needed my radio more then i did last weekend. so at the moment i'm back to driving my old '00 pewter met. silverado ext cab while im waiting on a radio and head unit mount.

heres how the truck looked when i got it

and here's it right before i got the painted mirrors with turn signals

most of the things i do are minor mods, and usually free, because my dad told me i couldn't do anything to it or i'd start making the payments. so i get around that by doing subtle things over a long time span.

what i've done so far:

-removed side molding

-added chrome speed grille

-painted bowtie black

-removed lower bumper valance piece

-switched out mirrors for ones with blinkers, puddle lamps and painted covers

-installed underglow and interior glow hooked up to a remote (over a long period of time)

-new tires (general grabber uhp's are amazing)

-added custom 3rd brake light decal

-aftermarket intake equivalent to AEM Brute Force but a LOT cheaper

i got it used and it already had a nice sound system in it, but i upgraded it a little last summer with the in dash screen

Welcome to the site, nice looking ride you have there.

Someone made off with my nav unit last year...broad freaking daylight in the middle of 4 restaurants. Brave little bastards. Anyways...Enjoy the site!!

thanks everyone, i appreciate the comments.

kinda angered myself earlier today though.

after the break-in, a couple of the lights on my a/c control unit stopped working, and me being the "mr. fix-it" i am went to take it apart, only to break the pass. side temperature control. to make things worse, when i plugged it all back in the lights started working again  so, now i've gotta try to get a cheap replacement or something....i guess this one will give me the opportunity to take it apart and see if theres a way to change the light color to blue though (another reason i wanted to take this one apart). i'd really like all of my interior lights to be blue at some point, but it seems like a pretty hefty challenge. i guess i'll find out as i go along.

later,

Noturday
