When You Buy A Truck In Canada...

I would like to know where the trucks are made/built when you order a truck in Canada. Is it made in Ontario? USA? Mexico? China? (I'm joking about China)

 

How many plants there are in Canada to build Trucks? How many closed since the economic crisis?

I believe the Oshawa truck plant is closing and just built it's last GM truck. So now all GM trucks will be made in the US and Mexico. And yes, many parts come from China. You can blame America for that, not GM.

I believe the Oshawa truck plant is closing and just built it's last GM truck. So now all GM trucks will be made in the US and Mexico. And yes, many parts come from China. You can blame America for that, not GM.

 

 

 

How hard is it for people to realize the inferiority of chinese made materials. I will gladly pay a 10%-20% premium for american made products, and save money in the long run not having to replace it. Is it just me or does not a week go by that we dont hear something about a recall from chinese made products in the news.

Wess, I suggest you do not look at the inside of your wheels. If you do, you will see "Made in China" embossed into the casting.

Not sure,The list I have now is the newest/lastest one,They change what models get built at what plants all the time...not long ago the Silao,Mexico plant was building regular cabs,now they only build "LD" crew-cabs,And my buddy has an '03 1/2-ton extended-cab that was built at the Pontiac plant.

Another buddy of mine has a truck like yours ('08 Regular-cab long-bed LT1 Z71) and it was built at the Fort Wayne,In. plant.

Our parts truck is an '07 2500HD regular-cab and was built at the Pontiac plant.

You cannot be serious. Theya re building $ 70,000 Cadillac Escalades in Mexico and shamelessly slap that $ 70k sticker on that vehicle?
