Can someone tell me where or show a picture of the vent solenoid for me ? I think I can fix this myself if I knew what part(s) to change. Any other advice on the subject is appreciated.

Kyle, follow this link, http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=75210, read through, then check out the link in post #6. This should get you on your way. It's an easy job and will only take about a half hour after you have all the parts together, Good luck.

I just changed mine out yesterday. On mine it is in front of the gas tank, in front of the canister. It was a dealer stock item. Auto Zone didn't carry it. Ended up costing $160 after tax. I also needed 6ft of 5/8 hose and 4 hose clamps. 1 ft to go from the canister to the solenoid, and 5ft to go from the solenoid to the filter that was included which is tied up near the tranny.

 

So far so good. CEL hasn't come back on.

 

But keep in mind, this is on my 07 NBS, so it may be slightly different for yours.
