Steering Wheel Swap - 09' Silverado

I have an 09 crew cab LT with only the cruise on the wheel. I also have the basic radio with single disc mp3 player and fully functional OnStar with controls on the rearview. My question is, does adding the new steering wheel with the audio controls do anything with the bluetooth phone capabilities? Are they built in and only needing the controls, such as the DIC add-on, or is there a seperate component that is needed also? If anyone knows, please feel free to chime in and thanks for your help.

Doesn't control bluetooth far as I know, and no you don't need the DIC, 07+ LTs have it pre-wired...Mine work perfect.

Bluetooth is controlled by the VCIM (Vehicle Communications Interface Module). You would need the Bluetooth capable VCIM, but there is some uncertainty as to whether or not it can be added and which specific part number is required. Check out this thread for more information.

Thanks, I was hoping that just adding the steering wheel controls would give me bluetooth functionality in my 09. I wonder if anyone knows if my 09 has all the VCIM already in it or it would have to be ordered?
