Bilstein 5100

I originally purchased the 5100 series shocks with the intentions of installing keys or cranking the bars. I'm thinking I may not now. Do you think they will still work or will they be too long?

I, too, bought the 5100's. Although I am still debating if I should add keys, the rep at Bilstein told me that the 5100's will still work on my vehicle. He told me the only difference is additional travel, not overall length. I don't kow a great deal about them, as you can probably tell, but he did tell me that if I elect not to go w/the lift, they will still work. I have mine sitting in my garage to add in the next week or so.

I keep going back and forth on cranking the tbars or adding keys or nothing at all. I did a 3" body lift and it looks good but I know it will look better with it leveled. I cranked the tbars on my last truck and it was more of a rough ride. I still may crank them an inch and see how it is. Good to know that the 5100's will still work without a lift.

I am not certain that I want to add the lift, although cranking the t bars an inch might do the trick. I have been told that 1" should not effect the ride quality. True?

I have Bilstien on my Sub and about to try them on my 09 truck, no lift....anyone out there running the 5100s?

I have an 08 CrewCab 4wd. I want to put some 5100's on my truck as well. But, I have the RC leveling kit on my truck, but I only used 1" of it. I want to put the remaining 1" block and then add a 1" block in the rear. If I get the shocks now, will I still be able to use the 5100's when I add the other spacer and block? I just dont' want to get them now on a basically stock truck, and then have to get new shocks again when I add the block in the rear. The part numbers I have are BE5-E376-HO (Front) and BE5-E377-HO (Rear). Are these the correct part numbers and will these work stock and when I put the block in?

When you crank you t-bars, you don't need longer shocks so you could of purchased stock replacements, but the ones you have will still work. Also, you don't need keys. Just crank your stock ones. The keys allow you to crank more, or too much, which isn't good.
