Scv Not Working

New member here. I have a 2001 Silverado W/T. I put a Delco CD player out of an '02 Silverado in it and the SCV has never worked. I'm looking to find out if it's a different pin location or something to that tune, although I kind of doubt that. Is is common for the units themselves to lose the SCV function? Thanks
