I have an 01 chevy 1500 Z71 extended cab LT. I am looking at getting an 8500 pound Superwinch(link below),and was wondering if this is enough weight to pull it out of a mudhole? Are these winches any good, are they reliable? Whats your preferences for a good winch? Also, i cant seem to find anywhere on the net to find a winch mount, what is a good winch mount for a Superwinch, and what are some websites and stores that sell them?

All I know about winches is that I would like one, but have always had something more important to pay for, so have not bought one yet! :troll:

I do have a come along in my truck though. Also my truck is an extended cab long bed and I'm not exactly sure I want it any longer even if I did have the money! I've seen some of these which seem to go out a foot and a half it seems.

I bought a winch from Harbor Freight,it's made by Chicago Electric and is rated for 9,000.lbs.Yeah I know their stuff tends to be made on the cheap side, but I didn't wanna spend alot of money.Warn,Ramsey and Superwinch seem to be the ones to buy.Because I also didn't want to spend alot of money on a custom winch mount/bumper I just made my own.The mounting channel came with the winch as did the fairlead.I've used it a few times to move heavy things around the driveway and I used it to help a dumbnuts young friend after he rolled his Ranger. Here's a few pics
