Abs Question? 01 2500hd

For the last month or so ive been noticing that when i come to a slow stop my abs is kicking in for no reason. It doesnt matter where i am, dry clean pavement it doesnt matter. And ive had no abs light or anything but this seems to be getting worse as time goes on. And sometimes it makes me a little nervous when coming to a stop because i will be almost completely stopped and then the abs kicks in and lets me roll an extra 3 or 4 feet. Any Ideas? I've been having the same issue with the ABS system on my 01 1500 Sierra also. Did you get the problem resolved and if so what did you do to get the issue resolved??

I was told by a friend that works at a dealership that there are speed sensors in the front hubs, they need to be cleaned. I had the same problem on a 98'

I had this with my 01 Yukon XL and your right about the scary part. I pulled into a parking place and the spot had a pole light, so when the ABS kicked in and kept rolling, I finally stopped inches from the pole. I took it in to the local dealer, and looking at my paperwork it says "Scan tested - No codes found . Found excessive rust on front wheel speed sensor mounting surfaces. Cleaned rust and lubricated mounting surfaces for both front wheel speed sensors" - The cost for this was $164 for this but I think it was part of a recall of some type because I applied, and G.M. comped me the cost of the repair.
