Fixed Curb Rash

Well i like saving money so i bought a set of used 16x8 American Racing Baja's Polished.

I spent $250 on them otherwise costing me at least $600, I bought new center caps at $11.88 a piece as well so im about $300 ahead right now.

they weren't perfect though so after spending 6 hours today sanding and polishing im finally happy with them. every one of them had a curb rash type problem with them but i can tell it was cause by a tire machine.

i started off with 120, then 180, then 500 grit sand paper. i also used 2 different snap-on air buffers with 3 differnt buffing wheels. they are now perfect other than the holes but that will get done another day. but im very happy with how they turned out and how awesome it is to own aluminum polished wheels.

here is a example of what was wrong with the rims, also one had quite a large gouge in it tha ti was able to sand out.

Those are a big time improvement over the last set. I think these fit the trucks personality perfectly. Good job man!

Definitely! I really didn't like the last set, but these look perfect on your truck!

did you rebalance them?

Yea, and they used the stick on weights too..

i added a few more things as well but i am waiting to put on my grill insert, and chrome door handles and tailgate handle but its getting there and i will be satisfied with the truck.. im sure i will continue to add a thing here and there but i have finally gotten to a point where it draws attention and im happy to drive it everyday  Oh and i also sold the chrome tail lights and put the stockers back in and i think it looks much better, i used meguiers plastic polish and they look brand new

Thanks for the comments everybody i know most people don't buy basic aluminum rims like this now a days but you can do this to pretty much anything polished aluminum especially rims cause they are a pretty soft aluminum.
