6.2l, Slt/ltz & Legroom

So I went to drive a Sierra Denali yesterday after work b/c I'm tired of my slug of a truck. But I'll be damned if I didn't have enough leg room. What's the deal with making the center stack so wide? :D

There's about two inches on each side of the stack that appears to be wasted space. I don't remember having that problem with my 02 SD. I could manipulate the seat so that it was tilted all the way down in the back and all the way up in the front but I didn't want to have to ride like that all the time.

And it sucks that you can't get the 6.2l in a truck with the bench seat. It was super-fun to drive but I just couldn't pull the trigger.

I am assuming that the console is a requirement for the 6.2l in a Sierra b/c of SLT and Bose?

LOL! I assume you guys are joking? I can't believe the transmission tunnel is any larger in a 6.2l equipped truck. :D

I don't think it's the console as much as the dash itself on a truck with a console. It seems to be "wide-for-nothing" for lack of a better term. Aesthetics? :)

If the center stack of the dash was only as wide as the console, I would probably be ok.

Plenty of room for me. :D

Did you make sure the pedals were adjusted so they are all the way down? Compared to my '06 YD I'd say the space is comparable between the 2. When I'm using cruise control I normally just rest my leg against the center console/stack, which is a fairly comfortable driving position for me.

More rear leg room would be nice... but since I don't sit back there it's not a big deal. :)

Oh yeah, they were definitely all the way back up against the firewall. I have those on my current truck so that was one of the first things i checked.

Everything is paltry in the back compared to the new F150s. But I definitely wouldn't base my decision on that. ;)
