How To Access The Diagnostic Codes

Can any body tell me how to get and read the diagnostic codes, Beep Codes for a 1998 GMC 1/2 ton 1500 Sierra truck. I believe its got a 5.7 L engine and an automatic trans. Power everything (windows, seat etc...)

 

Any help is appreciated

All OBD2 has to be accessed by a code reader. Go to an auto parts store and they can read only engine codes anything else needs a data scanner.
