Bluetooth Still Connected, But Truck Is Off.

So here's the situation. I paired my Blackberry Curve successfully with my bluetooth. I have been using it since the day I bought it without any troubles, that was until tonight. I get home, turn off the truck, get out, walk into my house, lock the truck with remote. 15 minutes later I decide to call my brother, phone doesnt ring but says it is connected. I hung up, then he called, I answer my phone and start talking, but I can't hear him. Then I notice the blue light blinking on my phone, thus indicating my bluetooth is synced with something. Check my computer, nope. Check my truck, and there it was my brother cussing at me because he thought I was ignoring him. I then told him that I'd call later. I disconnected the phone and did a reboot. I then continued to my bluetooth settings and it said that it was not connected to my truck. Then I decide to test something. With the truck off for nearly an hour I am still able to connect to my truck's bluetooth.

Anybody with a clue as to why this is happening? Thanks in advance for any help.

I don't know, but maybe I can point you in the right direction...

There are all sorts of computer modules in a new vehicle. Like 25 to 80!

These "go to sleep" or "wake up".

They go to sleep if they are not being used (to save the battery). Then wake up if needed.

I think I've read that some of these modules can stay "awake" for 20 minutes after shutting off the vehicle?

Also there is a thing called "retained accessory power" which leaves things running after you shut off your vehicle.

Then there is a thing called "Power Mode" or "Power Moding". This has to do with when a module is "awake".

Then "Personalization" where you can set some of this stuff to your liking.

I would read your vehicle owner's manual about this stuff.

Then if you must, there is the "Factory Service Manual set of books" which has descriptions of operation for all this stuff. I have a 99 set which totals 6000 pages long between the 4 books. I have no idea how long a 08 would be? Lots of reading!

Anyway I think these modules go to "sleep" if not being used, but can stay "awake" if being used? I don't know if they would "wake up" once they have gone to sleep unless the vehicle is turned back on???
