L.e.d. Taillight Problem

Hey, new to the site. Anyways, I got a '04 Silverado 1500 Crew Cab. I installed some L.E.D. taillights awhile ago. I've recently noticed that when the brakes are applied, I have like a 2-second delay between the taillights. My right side and 3rd brake light lights up and about 2 seconds later my left side lights up. Anybody have an idea what the problem is?

Are those stock (factory specification) lights?

 

If they are not and are a modification, then you should make them electrically equivalent to the stock bulbs.

 

That is they should have the same resistance as the factory bulbs. Measure the factory bulbs with an ohm meter and see how many ohms they are. Then compare with the LED lights. ( http://www.allaboutcircuits.com/vol_3/chpt_3/2.html )

 

Or learn how the electrical circuit works and modify it so LED bulbs work with it.

 

Also be aware that LED's have a direction for + and - whereas regular bulbs do not. See specification of bulb.

 

Might want to check that your turn signals work too.

Check your cruise control as well. I put LED lights in my '02 YukonXL, and the cruise was affected. Ended up going back to regular lights.
