Headlight Problem On 01 Silverado

I am having an issue with my headlights on my 01 silverado. When I turn on the truck at night the auto light sensor is supposed to turn on the lights. They come on for a split second then shut down. When I try and turn them on manually they do not come on. My dash lights work, my running lights work...just no headlights. Could this be relay or fuse or sensor? Hopefully someone has had this problem!!

check fuses first and then check relays....one of my relays went bad and killed the headlights. I simply replaced it with another and I was good to go...
