Using Advice On This Forum

What's the best advice you've learned on this forum about fixing your truck? ie saved you some a$$ pain, didn't buy unnecessary part, bought a tool that really helped, solved a tough problem etc.

I've not had any troubles to speak of, but the forums are extremely valuable and the first place I go with questions. I've learned alot thru the years about both my trucks.

This forum introduced me to the concept of "tuning" and where I first heard about Justin at Black Bear. Had it not been for this forum, I never would have gone the tuning route.

The DIC upgrade.

The steering wheel upgrade.

Where all the grease zerks were on my nbs Silverado.

How to replace the clunking steering shaft

How to grease the slip yoke.

and I know there are tons more stuff I learned here. There are some very smart people on this site very helpful too.

Without forums, you cannot get help/advice on anything

I would say that the forum is priceless because the wealth of knowledge I personally have learned and then by doing it and learning even more I am able to pass down knowledge to others or "advise" as to what has worked for me or others. Steering wheel upgrade I don't know if I have heard this one yet please pm me more info.

In addition to lots of technical enlightenment, the most valuable advice has been to enjoy it all!

Unfortunately/forutnately, it has turned into a mod and maint addiction!

1) DIC mod

2) Mirror upgrades

3) Step bar install

4) Black Bear Tune

In short...this list has cost and saved me a fortune!

There are a lot of people in here that have good info on just about any truck subject there is. I've had many questions answered and tried to answer as many as I could. This place is certainly a top ten site in my book.

muffler recomendation(flowmaster) for just the right sound for me.
