Bulls H I T...engines Done?

Well today in the morning, I start my truck from inside and I hear the tick tick noise. After about 10 seconds it got really loud and I opened the door to see if it was my truck making the noise or something else, but it was the engine. I quickly turned it off and tried starting it again(waited 10 minutes). At first it was really loud, then it got quieter and quieter but the noise still remained. I turned it off and slammed the door as I was mad. GM has really done it this time..dumbasses can't even get their engines straight. I don't want to drive this piece of shit anymore and will be giving it back soon.

I forgot to add no this is not an April Fools joke..I wish it was Jeff...

Should I start my engine to see if the noise is still there?

A trip to the dealer might be a good idea...

You might want to check the oil level first. Ticking or knocking sometimes indicates poor lubrication.

It's covered by the 100K mile warranty, if it breaks they'll give you a new one; they probably have a few in stock.

So they are going to tear open a new engine? **** sakes...

Jas,

We don't know what they are going to do. If they find that it is a candidate for the lifter TSB, then yes they will. What is the big deal? They are trained techs that are going to remedy your problem at no charge.

Stick it in front of a confetti maker and go buy a Fu**ing 150 or a Blundra or whatever you want to call a 'truck', hell I would even suggest the sh*tty ridgeline. Seriously, that ticking noise is alot better than it KNOCKING on you. either way, deal with it or trade it in for something completely different, your choice

Its over pack it in.

Guess I should have said this about my 00 a long time ago when it started to tick. Still running strong (knock- no pun in tended on wood)

I would highly suggest taking it straight to the dealer as quick as possible. I have heard of a few trucks the same model as yours having the oil pump let go. Get it checked out right away. Do you have good pressure on you gauge?
