Fuel Pressure Issue

I'm having issues with the Tahoe being hard to start. After it sits for a while, it takes 2 or 3 tries to get it going, then it will stumble for a few seconds and level out. Once it's started, it runs fine, although I have noticed a rough idle from time to time. I've tried turning the ignition on and letting the fuel pump run, but it doesn't help. I can hear the pump running. I have no way to test the fuel pressure.

I had to replace the fuel pressure regulator about 30k miles ago, but gas was leaking from the boot on the vacuum line, so it was an easy diagnosis. That time, I could let the fuel pump run before I turned it over and it would start right up. I've got about 40k on the filter so It's about time to replce it.

With that said, Does this sound like a pump issue? How hard is it to drop the tank? I've searched and found a ton of posts about changing the pump out, but thay all deal with trucks and lifting the bed. Obviously, that's not an option for me. Are there any write-ups on dropping the tank?

Have changed out your fuel filter recently?

No, it's about that time though. I plan to change that out this afternoon. I figure that's the cheapest place to start.

You really need to take a pressure reading. There's a chance your pump is failing.

Is this something I can do myself? Howwould I go about doing it?

I found a fuel pressure gauge HERE for $20.
