Cons To Body Lift

IMO....they look like shit, I know many members here have them and i'm not talking about anyone of the many nice trucks but I think there are better ways to get the wanted result.

just my .02 cents

There really aren't any cons to a body lift at all. They simply require relocation of the bumpers and gap guards, just as a suspension lift requires it's own unique parts. To me, a body lift is a better option than a 3" suspension lift. It's much cheaper and doesn't affect the factory suspension. The GMT-900 1500's show about as much frame as a 2500 so frame exposure isn't an issue.

Here is a prime example of how they look like Sh!@. (Not to mention I like to whore out my truck when I can. )

If you get in a wreck the bumper brackets will cause more damage to the truck than without them. The bumpers will not protect the frame, so you get frame damage.

How would you recommend getting 3" of clearance without any negative effects?

Quick question, Is there a reason to keep the spare mounted under the truck now?

Other than that, sweet truck.

Please tell us how they look like shit, if you are going to come on here and make that comment. I can promise you a "done right" BL will not even be noticed as a BL. Sorry for being a little heated but this is always the band wagon response to BL haters.

Don't take back your opinion, you have every right to feel the way you do, I am just curious as to why you feel that way.

Its very hard to tell even a 3" on the GMT900s especially when gap gaurds and nerf bars are installed.

While we're at it. Here's my truck that looked like shit along with all the other negatives that come along with the body lift. I guess i should have done it right and got the 3" RC leveling kit or the 4" Readylift leveling kit... no negative effects there right?

Matt, that looks absolutely terrible. RC 3 inch kit would have been much much better!

Thanks man. Yours looks awful too!

Your truck was one of my main inspirations for getting a 3 inch body lift. I don't regret getting it.
