Edge Evolution Or Diablosport

I am looking for a programmer. I have read the multiple threads about each, and I wanted to get information about both in one thread. The display is not a huge deal for me, so either will work. I like that I can build a custom program with Diablo, but I also see the happy Edge owners on here. For all of you that have either of these; what do you think of it and why did you decide to get it?

EDGE EVO is the only way to go if your going to get a handheld, the only thing better performance wise is a custom tune but they can be a pain for warranty work. I cant wait to get my Evo

From what I have read, I can custom tune with Diablo. I already have a 63 series K&N intake, and I would think that with Diablo, I could get it dialed in.

Diablo does not yet have any TCM tuning capability. But I am sure it will soon.

 

With that said, I am happier with my Edge Evo everyday. Truck seems to love it too!!! It always wants to GO!!!

I have found it for $370 shipped to my door. I don't know if I want it or the diablo unit yet. I like the tunablity of the diablo unit. I had an Edge in my 07 avalanche, but I sold it because 4cyl mode got really loud with the addition of the economy tune.

Really? I am running the Economy tune now and I have not noticed V4 mode at all, same as stock. My exhaust is stock and I have no plans to change it either. The CAI adds enough sound for me.

The K&N intake does sound pretty sweet during a heavy acceleration. I may end up going with it again. I wish I would have kept my other unit. The noises from 4cyl did scare me a little. The truck also pinged heavily in economy mode. Edge made a custom tune for me, but it only helped a little bit.

Did you ever try it with a tank of 91 octane and the Extreme tune?

Yes, it cleared up with 93 octane. I used extreme, but I got the programmer so that I could get more power and economy out of 87 octane.

OK, thanks... I hope mine doesn't ping, but if it does I'll probably just do the tranny only or the extreme tune.
