  1. I'm gonna have to try again. I've don't adjust it often, but I've been thinking that holding it longer changes it more, and the longer it is held, the faster it changes. Yes, I'd also like a dial control -- like was always used, until recently. OTOH, I don't want to go back to the foot operated high/low beam switch.
  2. Solution is to plug it in, to the USB-C connection. We've had multiple GM vehicles with wireless charging. They have all been slow -- so I don't ever bother to use them. We've also found that if the phone is doing a bunch of work that the wireless charging often cannot keep up. Phone gets plugged in if it needs charging -- otherwise it's usually in a pocket. If it's an android phone (at least the newer ones), it will have a setting for what charge speed it will accept. Cable, charge source and phone setting can all be the limiting factor for charge speed. USB-C usually has faster charging capability than USB-A. If the phone is in a case, that can also slow wireless charging. Not sure about charge rates on apple product.
  3. My '23 1500 has had the recall done. For mine, the issue was rare (and might have been operator error). However, the problem hasn't repeated since repair was completed May 2024.
  4. Congrats on the new truck! I've never heard of the fuel gauge having that issue. 60 miles is only 10 % of a 600 mile tankful. I'd wait for a couple of tankfulls to see if a pattern can be identified. Miles remaining is based on 'recent' mpg -- some combo of instant, 25 mile, 50 mile, etc. When current mpg changes significantly the 'estimated range' will change slowly to reflect this. Computer can't possibly know how the truck is going to be driven for the rest of the tank....faster/slower/grades/wind/trailer etc etc. I reset 'tripmeter 1' every time it gets filled (and record miles, trip mpg and fuel added so that 'had calculated can be compared with the DIC. I sometimes check the tripmeter + range number -- so I evaluate this tankfulls 'estimated trip miles' to what it usually does with the way I usually drive. This is a little less than 27,000 miles. Usually the truck is doing a little better than the DIC suggests. Lifetime hand calc average is 29.2. Clearly there is tank-to-tank variation depending on usage.
  5. On pickups, stabilitrac turns itself back on at 35mph. Traction control will stay off until turned back on OR the truck is restarted.
  6. Remote start its you walk towards it .
  7. It would still make it easier to step in when unloading....
  8. Thanks. It' wasn't what I typed, but I was thinking they would all be the synthetic product (75W-90) listed in the 2011 OM screen grab.
  9. Thanks! I had been wondering of the service manual(s) was different than the owners manuals. I also thought I remembered reading about 'lubed-for-life' for the diffs. Perhaps from about when they switched to synthetics for the diffs. (not sure when that was) My 2011 OM lists the synthetic products used -- but no change interval for diffs. Call for Dex in the transfer case and has change schedule based on usage. 2011 Sierra OM Does the service manual indicate the same axle lubes as the OM did in 2011? Even without a change interval they probably list what product to use if they are opened for repair. - 2023 Sierra OM says to 'see your dealer' for diff fluid info I guess it's now 80W-90 synthetic for all diffs?
  10. What does the service manual say about service interval for front/rear differentials on the current generation? A few years back there was an interval in the owners manual, instructions on method and a list of fluids to use. St
  11. N242435631 - Serial Data Gateway Module This is to correct an issue where the battery is a risk of being drained following and over-the-air update.
  12. No, I don't think running with traction control off will hurt anything.
  13. Deep snow/sand/mud conditions, traction control WILL get you stuck (the powering down already mentioned) Slippery/wet/icy conditions it can save your butt. As newdude suggested, give it a try and see what works for your conditions.
  14. Can 't see them either
  15. I think its might be because the 'Z71 Off-Road Package ' includes' PDZ Z71 Off-Road Protection Package' -- which already includes floor liners.
  16. They were good until Burger King / Restaurant Brands International bought them out (10 years ago).
  17. I figure that's kinda wide for winter boots.
  18. CarbonPro isn't a stepside. 2025 order guide shows carbon pro is still only available on top trim trucks. It also requires the truck to be TK10543 -- so 4wd, 1500, 4wd, short box, crew cab -- so not available on 'standard box' truck
  19. For 2025 it changes to optional on Elevation and SLE
  20. I don't know what is already there and what needs to be added. Also don't know if the light sensor it uses is internal to the auto-dim mirror or remote mounted @newdude likely knows the auto-dim details.
  21. @Amylcar Is that the rear camera mirror?
  22. The tire sites have lots of good winter tire reviews/information. I'm happy running Nokian Hakkapeliitta's on 'take-off' 18" AT4 rims for winter. Testing/review/comparison sites find icy/slippery performance is sometimes in conflict with deep snow performance -- of course any winter tire will likely do better than the hard rubber compounds used in warm weather tires.
  23. Mines a refresh 1500 ('23). It hasn't had the recall yet. I don't get many texts, but yesterday I got one while driving. Phone (samsung) was in my pocket, navigation was not active and audio was running FM. The truck popped a message on screen indicating a message received and name of the sender and had buttons to 'play it' or 'ignore' I hit the play button on truck screen and it read the message and then asked if I wanted to reply. I said no, like I always do, but now, because of this thread, wish I would have said yes just to see how the speech to text would work.
