the snoring bear has solved the mystery. As the bear is driving along on the highway at 74mph his mirror is slightly closing and opening causing a T1,T2 or T3 vibration (whatever the heck that is) looks like it is at around 43 Hz at 74 mph and inducing a vibration reading at 13 26 or 39 Hz. Dang I am exhausted now after reading all this intellectual information, you boys are so edumacated. I knowed I should have went to college to be a rocket scientieest LOL Now get out there in the driveway and tear off those pesky rear view mirrors BAM problem solved

Snug Top is going to be MUCH more water tight than most other designs since it drops over the side of the truck bed. A lot of people do not like that type of bed cover because it is so hard to remove and does not completely open the bed up for full access. Color match looks good though and design is sleek. I went with a color matched Peragon a few months back and I do have to report that it does a good bit of leaking in heavy rains and at the carwash. It really is inherent to the design as the water cannot run off like it does on the Snug Top type design. Some leakage is not a issue for me as I keep my stuff in the bed in a plastic tub anyway. color match turned out well on it also. Kudos to Peragon for having a unique design.

If I still had my 2014 I would have this driveshaft trueing done. The Michelin tires were a big help but the vibration never fully went away on the truck, it was just reduced to a tolerable level. I always wondered what it really was........ I tell you one thing if a man comes on here and states that his truck was 100% fixed and vibration free after having the driveshaft trued then if I still had a truck with vibration I would be pulling my driveshaft off and having it trued so quickly that it would make your neck spin, just sayin. Do you guys maybe suspect that ole softtail has a set of driveshaft alignment chain stores and is trying to drum up business? LMFAO

Do NOT be buying up all the Premium fuel I need that stuff!. I like 93 octane from any supplier off the top tier fuel list for my tuned 6.2. Runs like a friggin Banshee and gets awesome gas mileage....... I ran a lot of E85 through my 14 5.3 and never even considered top tier as being important just bought the cheapest stuff available whether E85 or regular 87 octane. The 5.3 really liked anything that I fed it, but the fuel mileage does suffer a bit on the E85.. I guess that is a BIg advantage in staying with the 5.3 engine if you are on a tight budget..

I think the concept is fascinating and makes perfect sense, any rotating part that is not running true can easily produce a shake. This boy may have cured the 800 page shake and vibration issue thread!! How would we find this shop that does good driveshaft work?

OK I have the combo for the gas mileage people. Buy a 2016 6.2 8spd / Install a bed cover / Install GM Borla Exhaust / Use a HyperTech Hand Held to install a premium tune. Adds 27 hp so you are driving a 447 hp beast that sounds mean as heck with the exhaust. Here you go Looks like it is getting broken in now. Overall average is lower due to lots of remote start cooldowns and city driving the Trip B 25mpg is from a trip yesterday on the highway TN to IL

Might be a bit more difference than you think on the gas mileage thing. My 2016 Denali 6.2 8spd got this from Nashville TN to Chicago IL yesterday I have never seen a 6.0 much over 12mpg LOL

oil Consumption is No longer an issue on the 2014 and up ecotech engine. Before I traded for this 2016 I drove my 2014 5.3 for over 60000 miles and had no oil consumption issues, got about 5000 miles on this 2016 6.2 and no oil consumption problem with it either. Now just so you understand that I do know about oil consumption problems here is a pic of one of the spark plugs that was fouled out in my 2009 5.3 oil burner. I drove that truck for over 80000 miles and had to keep a 5 quart container of 5w30 in the truck to fill it up with oil when I fueled up. I am probably one of the few people that still check oil level every time I fuel up. People look at you like DUH I didn't even know you could open the hood on a vehicle LOL....

Horrific crashes happen all the time this was a 2009 Lexus RX350 before the 18 yr old driver had this terrible accident. The driver survived "so far" this just happened in Nashville TN the other day

Rained pretty hard today but I could not find a drop of water inside, seems to leak when parked on a side to side incline that is when I first noticed water right inside the tailgate. I never installed a tailgate seal cuz I am not concerned about leaks I guess that would probably help it a bunch? If you want 100% water proof I think you may have to go with a fiberglass one piece (Da Big Ugly) that fits down over the bed completely haha

color match is awesome with the Peragon. Does leak a bit though you got to buy a plastic tub for stuff that cannot get wet

When something like this happens go back to the absolute basics make 100% sure the correct male plug is going to the correct female plug. Don't just glance at it TAKE IT BACK APART AND REALLY LOOK AT IT and make SURE it is orientated correctly.

Fixed mine with a HyperTech Max energy 2.0 part 2000 hand held programmer. It has an option to set the AFM to only come on above whatever speed you set. I am currently using 50mph so no V4 below 50mph so far i see NO change in fuel mileage with the change. My issue was that with my dual exhaust at low speeds when it changed to V4 it sounded like a helicopter had landed on my tailgate. Not noticeable at higher speeds above 50mph I may set it a bit lower maybe to 40mph do not know yet.

For sure try to get it covered and fixed at your dealership for at least part of the repair. Trust me without the proper tools and some prior experience this repair will be a real PITA

I would be VERY careful with the brazing unless you have access to nitrogen to purge the system before heating/welding the oil will burn off inside the pipe wall and form black flakes and will contaminate the entire system leading to future problems. if you have nitrogen/flow guage/hose and attachment fittings etc. then heck yes flow some nitrogen and go for it. i would suggest buying an aftermarket condenser which should be around 100 bucks I like to use Roppels.... ALWAYS CHANGE the filter drier anytime the system is opened up. Proper vacuum and refill with new refrigerant and BAM you are good to go.

Agreed I miss that feature. I saw thread where a guy removed the top piece and said it was empty underneath and he fastened it back with velcro so he could remove it easily and use the space. I have not been willing to take a chance on breaking the tabs so i have not taken mine off to look underneath. Volunteers????? I was told by my dealer advisor that there was now hardware in there for the phone charger pad and you could not store anything there? Just do not know? Do all trucks have the wireless charger thing or is it just the higher packages? Agreed I miss that feature. Not sure if this is the second or third plug that my 2009 5.3 Aluminum block engine fouled out due to oil consumption. (see pic below) First one fouled out at around 65000 miles second at around 75000 miles it was using a quart of mobile1 every 1200 to 1500 miles. Took it to dealer went through the oil consumption test and it fouled out another one during the test. They replaced the valve cover and put a deflector inside the oil pan. Funny part is I never knew if it fixed it or not cuz as soon as I got it back I traded the silly thing in for a 2014 5.3 it never used very much oil as best I could tell. At least I never had to add any between my 7 to 8000 mile oil changes and I drove it 61000 miles before trading. I was carrying around a 5 quart container of mobile1 in the 2009 LOL it was a great truck other than the oil consumption problem. Just traded my 2014 for a 2016 Denali with the 6.2 I do not have enough miles on it to see how it is going to do YET, fingers crossed. Note: I miss the rain sensing wipers on my 2009

Yes I second that motion replace the rubber flex lines. Very common issue.

Quality / Viscosity and Oil change interval issues most likely. Crankcase contains moisture and when mixed with motor oil that has been run past its useful life (mileage or TIME INTERVAL) it forms acidic poison that eats away valve seals/bearings/cams and seizes the oil seal piston rings in place. Your engine is gunked up man.

At 4000 miles now 2016 6.2 8spd. Smooth as silk loving it. Somewhere earlier in the is thread someone mentioned that there is no longer a transmission dip stick i will have to check on that. Sounds weird LOL

That should work great in case that neighbors dog runs out in front of you......he might get mesmerized by the looks and want a closeup!
