  1. Looks like your missing something. I bought and installed this BAKFlip and have not had one issue or leak. And this is Florida hot and rainy.
  2. No loaner because of COVID???? Are you kidding me?? That is a ridiculous excuse.
  3. I had two 8 speeds. First one needed a converter, never an issue after that. second one was fantastic. Great for towing, good trans IMHO. I always felt it was a programming issue.
  4. This youtube rolling coal thing is not getting any sympathy from anyone, in fact it is inspiring people against diesels. I am all for freedom, and being able to modify anything you bought...but even I am very annoyed when it affects others. Its childish and stupid. I have owned many diesels and presently own one. If someone blew smoke in my face from a cigarette...I would punch them in the face! If my child had to breath black diesel smoke blown in my window......it will not go well. I am a hotrodder and plan to tune my truck....but not to blow smoke on society. Its beyond rude.
  5. Yep! have not had it activate in the new truck yet, just the flashing red and vibrating seat. But my experience was in my Mercedes S550. Right lane at 40 in a 45 mph 3 lane roadway, just as I looked in my sideview mirror--literally 1 second--the car in front of me came to a near stop. I was so entrenched in my lane change to left as the car went into ABS and stopped before hitting him!! Literally saved me from that accident. My eyes didnt look to the sideview mirror for 1 second before my seatbelt cinched up and car stopped. Didnt even know the car had that feature as I had only owned it a week. Big fan of the technology now!! I have never had a fender bender or rear ended a car in 45 years of driving.....but I would have that day!! Saved me no doubt. I actually made sure my wifes new truck had this feature after my experience.
  6. The LS based motor has almost nothing in common with the LT motor in your truck. Just the displacement is the same. Nothing is interchangeable except I believe the lifters. The LS motors go up to 400K. One of the best motors ever. I have had 5 LT based motors and they are pretty stout. The LT 6.2 is a beast. But they have had issues, but so did the LS when it came out in 1997. The LT is much more complex for a pushrod motor and not as easy to work on. Nothing I would shy away from owning, even with its known issues. If I bought a used one today, I'd shut off the AFM, swap the lifters and cam and let it run. Just not that easy of a job as the LS motor which can be done in a weekend.
  7. Blackvue and Thinkware are two of the best and have a parking mode along with motion sensors and impact. I had to return the Blackvue as the wifi is a big issue with the truck. Great camera though. zi am now ordering the Thinkware. The GM accessory camera is made by Thinkware.
  8. Gm has the worst seats. Its the ergonomic design along with terrible cushions. I have had many years of the last generation and tried everything. Replacing cushions, cutting cushion out and lnstalling better cushion at interior shop. Different leather covers. Removing the bubble wrap ventilated seat. Tried everything. Its the design of the seat. It sucks. I sat in a 2021 and felt it was a bit better and the new car smell made me buy it!!! Now months later my back is an issue again and these seats are only a little better...way too firm. I was hoping the refresh was going to be better as they advertised...pics look identical. Almost every review of this truck and the prior generation state the seats suck. GM doesnt care. Ford has comfortable seats. I rented one and went interstate for 4 days...seats are great. Unfortunately I am not owning a Ford. Ford has an entire division dedicated to seat ergonomics. I believe GM farms this out and just goes for a look.
  9. The average all around mileage for most is 24 mpg. In town I get 20, on the highway@ 75 mph I have gotten 30 but average 22-24 mpg all the time. There are guys here who put the effort in and get 30-32 highway, but we are talking slower, and flat, no wind.
  10. I am having issues with the infotainment as it does not show in the DIC when switching channels. So If i have Waze on the radio display and switch up a channel. I cannot see in the DIC what channel. I was told there is an update so it trancends from radio to DIC. Works sometimes but mostly not. Hmm, have to see if i have over air updates turned on?????
  11. I hear ya! I am approaching 60 yrs old quickly! Its not fun. I have a 2 post lift at the garage and it does make it easier....but its still a PITA. On a good day, rubber gloves, socket, oil filter wrench out, and oil drain tank...if I am organized maybe 12-15 minutes. I still have to lay on the ground to set the post arms under the frame. Its right at that point I wish I wasn't a control freak. But I have had alot of stupid issues with shops and its just easier for me to control the outcome. The day will come when my back and knees just say no. If your happy with their work, it sounds like thats more than half the battle, and thats your shop. Trust, not stripping your oil pan bolt, making sure the oil filter is tight and actually changing the oil is the other half. I would pay more for perfect work any day of the week over cheaper. Watching oil change scams on Youtube doesnt help either. Good luck
  12. He doesnt care. "I don’t care about how easy it is or why you doi it, I’m not going to do my own oil changes." He is just trying to save 20 dollars....... All while oil prices are rising. I'm with you, I stock up at Walmart on Mobil 1 synthetic. It was 25 dollars, now 28 dollars for the 5 quart. Napa gold filter, and I am done on my terms and schedule, done correctly. I paid over 60K for this truck, not handing it off to the lowest paid, least skilled guy at a shop, who has no vested interest in not dinging up my truck or doing the change correctly, if at all.
  13. This is great info. I saw many trucks on there up to 100K. Great to see for this 3.0. Its really a winner. Any big issues would be out there with those miles. Lets face it, most people come to a forum for research or to complain about their issue. Not to say how great their truck is and that it has no problems. If I lost my truck tomorrow, I would ONLY consider the 3.0. It has been fantastic.
  14. From everyones pictures they look the same. No one has posted having the new massage, improved seats yet. They are an upgrade and will be available on the refresh. One person posted coming from a '21 to the new refresh that they felt better?? But mentioned not an apple to apple comparison due to the new truck not having ventilated seats...which does compromise comfort due to the bubble wrap type design GM uses incorporated into the seat for ventilation.
  15. The 2014-2020 generation seats are the worst seats ever! I'm in a 2021 Sierra Denali with different design seat and they are ergonomically better but over all marginally better as in they dont hurt like the previous generation. Still too firm. Doesnt look like the seats changed much but the advertising for the massage seat option states they are different and more comfortable. But no one has them yet. Thats what will make me jump also.
  16. You are clearly measuring it differently. There are two different lugs on the tire tread. They are staggered. You are measuring one in and one out...your not measuring the same outside lug. But as other have explained, you need to measure the axle not tires. I dont think you have any issue. An alignment shop will tell you immediately.
  17. The cloth seats were a bit better than leather, I had to rent a couple of Gm trucks on occasion. But I want leather and need ventialted seats down here. Those seats suck and are hard. The ergonomics is half the problem also. Makes my blood boil. My 2021 Sierra is just OK but bottom line not painful as the prior years. Needs just a little more cushion. Like Ford. Its so ridiculous. With values as athey are I would swap into a 2022 refresh and not get hurt, but there is no reason if seats are not greatly improved. Love the refresh, my complaints are the seats and 8" screen in my 2021. But Love the 3.0 so Im good.
  18. I have had a combo of Pickups and Yukon Xl Denalis for many years. Never complained till 2014 Silverado . Then we got a 2015 Sierra, another 2015 Yukon XL Denali, then a 2017 Yukon XL Denali. All of the seats sucked. Amazing how that new car smell convinces you its better. Then after a few months and some long road trips my back would be spasming! Worst seats ever. Finally bought an S550 for comfort and a 2013 Suburban as a steady Eddie tow/dog truck. The seats in the old trucks were much better than this last generation. This generation is too firm, but not painful. The ergonomics are slightly better. But they are not great, just OK. GM sucks for seats. Rented a Ford recently and the seats were much better than ours!! Our 2003 GMC Yukon XL was like sitting in your living room!!! At 80K for a Yukon XL Denali, the seats should be awesome....and they are not....they are OK. Jeeze a new 2022 Sierra Denali CC with some options is 72K!!!
  19. Looking Good! love the new front grill. Coming from a 2021 does the '22 have the new seats? Are they more comfortable? Or is that only the massage seats?? If the seats are softer I'm in!! seat review please!!
  20. Beautiful. Best of luck with her. I noticed in the reviews no button on the rear handles on the refresh. I then noticed I use them all the time on my '21. When you tow or backup camera does the entire screen get used?? Are the seats softer? My 2 reasons to try to justify the '22 are more comfortable seats and bigger screen. My main complaint is the 8" screen. GM didnt even consider the demographic of men over 50 yrs old who wear reading glasses!!! Infuriates me to put on glasses to see that screen hooking up a trailer. Thanks!
  21. Thank you for posting the instructions! Thats what a community is all about. I received our tablet today and was shocked there are no instructions. Leave it to GM...13 pages of instructions!! It couldn't be- just mount, run the wire down the seat and plug into a harness under the seat?? Of course not. Engineers overdoing it again...jeeze its just a tablet! Thanks again
  22. I totally agree with the above. Have not seen that issue, and dont have it either. Great drive train, you will enjoy it. Is it certified? That would make me feel better, but I'll bet some dealer was throwing parts at it for the crank no start issue. That is just a software update. I had it done, not one issue since.
  23. I have seen his channel. He does click bait to get paid. He also loves the 3.0. But at some point when they mentioned that belt, there was buzz, and it caught fire. So he did a video regarding the fear feedback. Mind you this does not negate that the truck at that point had not even been on the road yet. There was a "concern" of old men researching a purchase. Based on nothing. Unlike the LS motors and the LT motors and present day with immediate motor issues within weeks and months of release- bending pushrods, wiped out cams, stuck lifters on brand new trucks and cars. That is called "an issue". Quality control, design flaw whatever you choose. But that "issue" is based on ongoing problems people are having. Its real. Its a fact. Its happening. There are memos from GM to replace all the lifters on new trucks. The oil pump belt on the 3.0 is working fine, and there has not been an issue. After seeing where the belt is in the video and figuring the job whenever that comes....looks like a walk in the park. Regurgitating someones "feeling"..is getting old. Its someones opinion about a feeling that they feel may happen or could and then make up numbers and statistics........on nothing. Just someones feeling. I like facts, not feelings. I'll listen to an opinion...based on facts...feelings are for woman. I have owned many 5.3's and 6.2's. I could name 10 different jobs guys arent going to do on that motor also. Knowing GM well from experience...the rear seal leaking is the only "real" problem that has occurred with this motor and it was early on. No new trucks have that issue. The crank no start has been solved with software. It is unusual for Gm to do so well with any new motor. But its out since 2018 and it appears they have. It is shocking too. Please post that failed belt and blown motor in a 3.0. I have been looking...can't find it. I have found thousands of cams and lifter jobs throughout the country to the point where they cant even keep up with parts to fix them. We loved the new Yukon Denali very much after a test drive. We couldn't find a 3.0 Denali, I almost caved in and bought the 6.2 that was available. So happy I didn't. Lucky we fell into a Denali CC 3.0
  24. All newer vehicle have an anti siphoning fill tube. Try to put a hose down there. It wont go. Thieves are now, just drilling a hole in the tank with a cordless drill. Many recent reports of drilling. Have to really think about where your leaving or parking your car/truck. About all a locking cap will do is save you from someone adding something to your tank....like an ex girlfriend adding sugar!! LOL
  25. Looking good! Post pics when it gets here! I like the new front grill, and dashboard. I saw they said the new 2022 refresh will have better seats?/ But in every review they look identical to my 2021. I want softer nicer seats so I would consider a 2022 but I love this new 3.0. But Google is the deal breaker fo me. I hope that changes. I agree, if your not working a 2500 Duramax its a really a chore sometimes. This 1500 babymax has fit me perfectly. I have no need to go back to a 2500 probably ever again.
