  1. Speaking from experience. I beg to differ. I ran 87 in my 6.2 and it knocked. Not crazy, but noticeably. Ended up mixing premium with mid grade.
  2. FWIW .. the codes are only because of the bad battery .... But, there's no excuse for a dead battery on a new truck. ?
  3. This is exactly why I just dumped my 19 6.2L for a 20 3L diesel ... Insanely bad mileage - especially with all the gimmicky crap they added for fuel management.
  4. Just revisiting this subject... I had a 19 with the 6.2L. Mostly do a lot of towing my toys. The 6.2L never did better than 10 MPG towing my enclosed trailer (2000lbs/but 7ft tall). Literally just got the 20 with a 3L Diesel to try and save on fuel. Remember, the 6.2L required premium fuel which is about .50 cents more than diesel in my area. The gas engines move. But for towing, man do you pay at the pump. So, it depends on what its used for I guess ....
  5. I just jumped on the diesel bandwagon with a 2020 Denali 1500. Was not in the market, but 84 months at 0% allowed me to accomplish some things so I did it. Actually had the 19 Chevy High Country with a 6.2L. 90% of my driving is towing a trailer. With the 6.2L at 70mph, that thing got between 7 and 10 MPG depending on the headwind. Im dying to see how the 3.0L diesel treats me ....
  6. It drives me crazy they cant offer release notes ?
  7. Back when the reverse cams first started appearing many years ago, you'd put it in reverse, be all the way backed out before the image would appear. This must be the updated version.
  8. Again, I hope you all are filing complaints at NHTSA ... I was poking around there and didnt see any filings
  9. You'll be just fine. I was in a similar position. Had a 2500 diesel .... towed like a dream, hated everything else about it. 1500 will do you just fine. The mileage is gonna be ugly though. Really ugly.
  10. If it happens again, take video. Im sure something wasn't put back in and is shorting out or whatever. That totally sucks.
  11. Call service and give your VIN. Ask them if any updates are noted. they are not traditional recalls the dealer must address before delivery...
  12. There are any number of software updates you probably need ... visit the dealer, most are undeclared "recalls"
  13. It's a 6.2 .. .If I recall I was towing a small trailer at the time.
  14. Good catch. They offer a harness for the 19's. I just ordered one. The trick to getting the cover off is pulling the smaller cover off from the very top.
  15. Bwaahahahahah ... mine fluctuates all the time. I've had 2 updates applied at the dealer and still, this is what I see.
  16. It was mentioned earlier, but file a complaint .. https://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/VehicleComplaint/ If it does become a recall, I'm betting everyone who has experienced a failure will be in a much better position in the long run.
  17. It's a known issue ... . and yes, it's associated with the security. Quite simply, they don't know how to fix it.
  18. Read an article earlier ... someone's filing a class action suit because GM cant get the 8 speed working correctly ....
  19. Yeah, is the crimp a clamp or something that can be proactively addressed?
  20. Im sure its weighted heavily to support their dealer service/parts network ....
  21. Im certain that's mostly in a controlled (lab) type setting .... You'd need a fleet of trucks and people to accomplish that in the course of final build beta testing
  22. I think it goes more toward "lab" or simulated testing vs real world testing .... As these companies try to develop and put new products out cheaper by avoiding real world testing, they are going to pay a price. Im sure someone at GM will look back and see what was paid out in warranty repairs and crap themselves.
  23. Add my 19 to this list with a leak on both sides ...
  24. Oh sweet .. How does it mount? Their video wasnt very explicit on the mounting. Also, does it stay put when driving? Dont see any mechanism to hold it in place from the video. FORGET IT ..just read the install guide. I'm not drilling my bed.
