  1. tech that drove my car seemed to have the same thoughts...he said on the early build 2019s they didnt use atf that met the specs and demands of the new transmission. once it was discovered they changed it at the factory level but never issued a recall for the affected trucks. wierd but wasnt gonna make an issue out of it. agian after the flush the improved difference was immediately noticeable. in fact i towed something last week and felt a difference there too.
  2. Tech at dealer took for it a drive. Immediately knew it needed a flush. Got it done while I waited. I noticed an improvement immediately. Thanks everyone for the input
  3. did the fluid flush...immediate difference
  4. got a 2019 trialboss....47000 miles. recently i noticed a shifting issues. seems more apparent at cruising speeds, like around town, residential areas. its not a clunk or jerk but almost like a delay or lag. so i called dealership yesterday and happen to talk with the service manager and he told me to bring it down to have it reprogrammed. i initially was a little perplexed and questioned him and he said hes not seen many issues with the new transmission and that with how heavily integrated these trucks are with electronics thats his bet on the issue. he said most issues that he comes across of this nature are a software update, not an actual mechanical issue. for curiosity i drove the truck down the street in manual mode and i felt like it was not as apparent. Any of this sound familiar to anyone or have any experiences with this. thanks all
  5. how many miles beofre the flush ? im at 47000, dealer told me i needed it last oil change...part of the 45000 maintenance package
  6. honestly i love it...its def throaty, and a lot more aggressive then i anticipated.
  7. have a 5.3 and did the afe pipe yesterday...look me 20 min...i found that the clamps had to be in the right place as to compress the slotted ends...ill check it in a few days to make sure nothing loosened up.
  8. Finally got to the muffler delete today. been debating with myself for months about, finally got the piece of pipe i needed and pulled the trigger today. took me about 20 min. stood at the rear of the truck and started it...HOLY ****** !!!i kinda just giggled....not knocking anyone but the video and sound clips dont do it justice. its deep, real deep, very throaty...screams on a cold start, def noticeable at reg startup. great rumble and progression when getting on it but when cruising or even normal thru my neighborhood its not loud at all. the cost vs reward cant be beaten.
  9. i have a magnet. its located in the flat space to the left of ignition about even with gas pedal if u reference ur picture.
  10. looked this up and it looks interesting. might give it a try. couple thing i found is that many people have the same issues, some said it was corrected with firmware updates. not sure where you guys got this but i found it on amazon. might be the route i take so if i do have an issues it will be easier to return.
  11. had the same issue when i first installed my cover...eventually things settled in and loosened up and no longer have the issue, tailgate opens fine...not that i use the feature that often. another thing you will notice is that if u have the bed packed and theres pressure against the tailgate it wont open as well...youll need to push against the tailgate to release the pressure to allow the mechanism to unlock the tailgate. sometimes i fell like some of the features with the new tailgates and with the pro tailgate on the gmc...they seem cool but aren't practical for guys that use their trucks in a more traditional way.
  12. no rubbing or trimming. no spacers but i am running an offset.
  13. perhaps but im running 33x12.5 R20 toyo MT
  14. i had em on my 2015...my reviews are mixed. i always had to open my cover a a little to full open the lid on the swing case. the cases locked but only way to lock them to the truck was a traditional keyed lock, whicj meant that had to be unlocked and relocked every time i wanted to swing the case open. they blocked some of the emitting bed light and on the 2019 looks like it will block the lights completely. with that beeing said they were a great option to keep items like hitch, tow ropes, straps, tie downs, etc. easy to access, able to have with a tonneau cover and didnt take up alot up bed space
  15. did mine today...its a quick and easy upgrade. ill provide a quick run down of the process. the plastic cover came off at first in one piece. gently pried at the sides and it slide right off. the smaller cover will pop off just as easy, nothing here needs to be overly forced. unscrew the T20 torx screw in the center of mirror bracket and mirror slides right off. on the roof panel remove the two L shaped cover pieces and remove the deeper set T15 screws. the entire panel will come right down with a gentile tug to release the two clips. ull see the needed plug glued in the opening more towards passenger side. you dont have to go digging for this. it was obvious as soon as i got the panel off. i used a flat head screw driver to lift it off the glue. again no hulk strength here. then feed connector thru hole and connect to mirror. dont forget to tighten the t20 back on to mirror and but everything back together. i also encourage you to test the mirror before you put it all back together. block the sensor on the back and shine a light into the sensor on the mirror side. again this is not a hard project. good luck and enjoy.
  16. i have the bakflip as well and my bed is dry. did you run the drain hoses thru the bed walls ?
  17. i did the mod to my truck the first week i owned it. a year later...i never use it. for one the phone charges a lot faster when plugged in, the second reason is i use apple car play so the phone needs to be plugged in anyway. wireless carply is we need next...or wireless android auto for you rebels lol
  18. i drilled holes...they are small and inconspicuous. main issue is that if i grab my gun...i don't want the magnet coming with it.
  19. two magnets...one in the center console...one under the steering wheel, more towards the right side as im right handed. I wont preach gun law or safety....your an adult, do what you want but for me this is an option to have my firearm with me and accessible. why, where, when, how you carry a firearm needs to be tailored to you and ur routine. what i have described fits mine...when i need it.
  20. yes i also did the flapper. used a piece of exhaust pipe strap (approx. 3'' long'') and hose clamp as someone else did above. used the hvac tape as well. as i stated i changed my own exhaust myself on my 2015 so i was knew my way around the truck and where things are. the valve is right before the muffler and the screens are right near the rear tires.
  21. so i love tinkering with my truck...couldnt help trying this out. used the hvac tape...did the whole thing in the dark with a flashlight in 10 minutes. my honest review is that it def makes noticeable difference, and while its a great idea, cant beat the result for spending 10-20 bucks. It does not compare to a true exhaust upgrade. I did an exhaust on my 2015...infact the old valve mod on that one is what sparked the bug lol. in closing this is a great mod. its low cost, actually works and gets people to get working on their truck and get a little dirty.
  22. i run a 33x12.5 on 20s with my trailboss
  23. i believe he said hes gone thru 20%....which seems reasonable for 13000 miles. im in the same ballpark with 10000 miles. without factoring in driving habits and paths traveled it seems normal. I have larger wheels, heavier tires, i tow occasionally. I look at the information as a helpful guideline rather than something i worry about. brake pads like tires are going to need to be changed eventually. beats the old days with my nissan armada when i was having pads and rotors changed every 15,000 miles cause nissan didnt put adequate size brakes for the size of the truck.
