  1. Nothing major today, just added the “Silverado” door sills. I like the look better than the plain silver. Plus my old ones had scratches from the old gravel driveway getting stuck in my shoes.
  2. Silverados without remote tailgate release have just a normal handle on the gate instead of a button, so you’d definitely need some hardware for that. Installing factory remote start in previous generations required a module and programming. Not sure if they sell the factory kit for the 19s.
  3. All of the rear sills are plain plastic, even the on the Denali. RST and up have the stitched rear door panels with “wood” trim. Can’t help you with a part number but I think the RST part is the only one that would match your LT wood up front. My LTZ has darker wood, and the High Country is different too. Same with all of the GMC.
  4. See if you can loosen the cover up and slide it forward at all. Might take enough of the tension off the gate.
  5. Yeah, they sell red rear calipers to match but they are the same size/ type. Probably better off just painting the backs and save the $500...
  6. Think he’s referring to the performance brake kit GM sells. Or tries to sell. Haven’t seen anyone with them. https://www.shopchevyparts.com/performance/2019-silverado-1500-performance-front-brake-system-piston-red/23505023-p-92301746.html They look awesome but the extra 2 grand in my bank looks better. My truck isn’t ever going to be an autocross contender.
  7. Finally time to break out the toys!
  8. Definitely not normal. Mine worked on the first try from day 1. It needs repair, unless you have a tonneau cover pressing against the top of the gate as newdude said.
  9. I think the difference comes down to what cluster your truck has. I’ve noticed that trucks with the large digital cluster do not have drive mode indicators printed on the dial. This theoretically allows for the missing 4th mode (off road) that myself and others with this cluster have. Not based on trim level per-say as LTZ and AT4 without tech package have the smaller cluster display and dial with labels on it.
  10. What kind of economy do you see at 80? Not that you or I put efficiency ahead of actually getting somewhere without causing a pileup...but I was coming through Chicago on the tollway today, doing around 80 (with people flying by me, nonetheless) and couldn’t see much more than 16-17 on the DIC with the 6.2. Just wondering how the 2.7 compares in faster highway speeds under boost.
  11. You can always buy more gas, but you can’t buy more time. If he were still around, I’d take the 30 extra minutes with my dad over a couple MPGs any day. Squeezing the best mileage out of a pickup in general makes little sense to me...but save for the Duramax, the 2.7 seems to be the only engine in this lineup than can get good economy in city driving. I’d really like to get one as a loaner next time I need service, as I’m sure the difference is tremendous compared to the 6.2. This engine really intrigues me and I would certainly consider down the road, especially if it becomes tunable and would gain the 10 speed.
  12. Yup. Usually if you remote start it or give it some time for the systems to boot before backing out, it will be less likely to switch the birds eye view off on you. Supposedly there is a bypass mode that is required to kick on the reverse camera right away, even if the rest of the system’s cameras aren’t ready. But unfortunately even waiting before taking off is not infallible; I had it switch on me after driving for 45 minutes yesterday.
  13. Think it’s more to do with the added weight of the multi-pro tailgate than anything else.
  14. I was under the impression that only the color coat is water based, not the clear. I agree the paint ain’t very good, just don’t know what to attribute that to...
  15. They are thicker than normal decals and have a pretty hard surface, I would consider them closer to plastic than vinyl. It makes them a lot more forgiving to install...no chance of bubbles or a piece of lint telegraphing through the sticker, and you do get a “second chance” to line them up correctly if you start one crooked. But there is a slight edge on them. Also, after I installed, there was a bit of adhesive residue on some of the edges that I cleaned off with alcohol, and then I was really happy with it.
  16. They are the ones GM sells made of matte black plastic. https://www.shopchevyparts.com/decals-and-emblems/2019-silverado-1500-tailgate-chevrolet-lettering-decal-package-black/84370615-p-92300682.html I would say they are probably very similar to the flat ones from BD, but haven’t seen those in person. Mine have no dome on them at all.
  17. Well, I knew I was in for something when my remote start didn’t work this morning... Had a check engine light on. Busted out my scanner and found a P1005 code. Found TSB for it here: https://gm.oemdtc.com/10285/ses-mil-dtc-p1005-2019-chevrolet-silverado-gmc-sierra-1500 Unless the TSB has been updated recently, it looks like all they do is clear it anyway, so I just cleared it myself. Dealer is 30 minutes each way and I don’t have the time to waste if there’s no real problem or fix for it. So far so good. Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue before, and what your experience was with it. I don’t really remember seeing it mentioned on the forum at all...
  18. I understand the sentiment, but it’s not really a matter of believing they are there or not...unless everything referencing the sensors in the owner’s manual, install manual for the performance brakes, and your own build sheet is a lie? They have a specific RPO code (JBP). The RPO is shared with the only other GM car that is documented to use sensors in the pad, the CT6. On that car there are sensors in the front left pads and right rear pads. I have no reason to believe this system is any different, beyond just speculation due to the massive inaccuracies some are experiencing. GM probably doesn’t even know why this is happening yet, but mine are accurate so I personally have no reason to question my dealer or GM on it. If I had the numbers some of you have I would definitely be up their ass to get some sort of answers. It’s not a big deal but it’s a “feature” that I would expect to work somewhat accurately or why would they spend the money on it?
  19. I don’t know what triggers it, but it pops up like every couple weeks for me upon startup. Black screen, have to hit OK before you can use anything. Not bad if you catch it before you take off...otherwise like he said, it’s a distraction warning you of distractions. My ‘16 did it too.
  20. The XM is nice for areas where the cell service is crappy or non-existent. I also like the fact that it’s just “on” and well integrated into the system. I don’t have to pull out the phone or open an app to find a station or whatever. I agree the music is pretty repetitive and uninteresting at this point, but I keep it around for those reasons. Plus, as you said, you can get it for next to nothing if you try to cancel.
  21. Mine only beeps when I power it up via fob or the switch in cab. As others have said, no beep when opening or closing “old school style”...
  22. Yep, I would imagine SLT does too. I was just speaking on the Chevy side.
  23. Did it a few months ago. It’s subtle to say the least, but in the right light it pops.
  24. Another fun trivia fact, only LTZ and HC get auto up on the passenger window. I can only imagine the bean counters calculating the savings on only making the driver window auto up on the lower trims.
