All of you 6.2 owners will have a 3.23 rear ratio unless you have the max tow gearing at 3.42. Seems like a bit of a difference between MGS on a 3.23 rear and 3.42. I have the 5.3 3.42 and my average is only around 17-18 Best highway I have seen is 23. But no way do I average 20-21 even babying it trying to keep things in V4

My Dad had an 88 K2500 reg. Cab Long bed 4x4 454. Tranny blew at 60k Other than that, it had 0ver 350k when he sold it 5 years ago. It was a farm truck used and abused. Some minor rust at cab corners and peeling hood paint..... Was the best GM vehicle our family ever owned. I had a 94 short bed Z71 and sold it in 2000 with 82k. Not 1 single issue. So I second yournod to the c/ks from 88-98 being the best!

If your Vacuum Pump is "tick, tick, ticking" then get it changed for a new one. Once this pump fails, it will grenade.... sending metal shards into the engine. They are about $130 and it takes about 2hrs to change. Unless you have a Warranty still. If so get it to the dealer. Some Pumps leak oil out the back which could be contributing to your oil loss.

I agree. The issue does not sound like the ill fated Toyota Prius of the past with the gas pedal literally sticking, killing drivers/occupants as a result.

There is play side to side but the issue is front to back. If you look on the firewall, you will see where the entire pedal assembly is attached there with a large nut over a square piece of plastic or metal bracket (depending on trim level) See below. The shim goes behind this nut and bracket. Hard to get to and you have to peel carpet back. The arrow in the left pic shows where the shim goes.

Yours must be an exception to the rule. My boss just purchased a new 2018 LTZ and he has already shimmed it. From what I understand on the 2019 Forum, the throttle response is crisp and instant on the new T1 trucks, with no flex. So maybe the engineers do listen to us here...

Anyone here tried out a SPECTRE cold air system. Seems basic enough to get the job done at $155 complete. No enclosed box though. They also have a filter similar to a K&N for half the price.

What year is your truck? Model? Package? Do you have adjustable pedals?

I agree Darren. I have heard the Zevos are not that great in the stop/tail/turn or even front amber turn signals. I would love to swap out my oem sierra tail lights with the newer 16-18 slt denali style units, but they are about $600 a piece minus the conversion harness. I was going to just swap my bulbs for LED and add resistors but have not pulled the trigger on that either.

I have Zevos in my license plate lights and they are great. I also have them in Cargo light and reverse backup lights and i like them. They were in stock at either Autozone or Oreilly. Some ebay or other vendor led lights seem like they may be brighter or even too bright, but the Zevos are better than stock halogens IMO.

I guess you are not missing anything but expressing your facts and opinions about what you know, which is what I have done. The post I quoted from Silver Sled mentioned never needing 4wd Low for boat ramp use. Like my response stated..... it would depend on the boat ramp. I have neighbors, friends and relatives who do use 4 Low around here on boat ramps. I have also used 4 Low with my sierra on a boat ramp to launch and recover my next door neighbors 23' Tige' ski boat. 4 Low is a grunt/gearing aid in this case. Just like running 4 Hi or 4 Low in Mud. You need 4 Hi in mud for wheel speed. 4 Low will bog you down as you do not get the proper momentum.

Depends on the boat ramp. Several around here in the KC area are STEEP and slimy. 4 Low is added insurance if you ask me. Kind of like the afterburner on a Jet Engine.

I cannot imagine the look of an AT4 or Trail Boss with a Standard Bed. Kind of the reason why Ford does not offer a Standard bed on the Raptor.
