  1. I have found that by playing with my iPhone equalizer settings I can get the OEM kicker system to sound good. Not great but good. As @LtDan2025 said, I wouldn't have paid list price for it but it came standard as part of the CarbonPro package. edit: I have only used the kicker system via Bluetooth. Maybe directly connecting a music source via the USB port might sound better. There is usually some audio quality loss when using BT.
  2. On my 21' I think the seat belt chime comes on at 14 mph. I've got about a 1/4 mile of gravel road between my house and shop building. I generally don't put the belt on when I'm making that short drive.
  3. Zero regrets here after ~9K miles.
  4. I found a set, BNIB, for $500 on craigslist when I was visiting family in California. They look correct on the truck. Some of the other steps I've seen don't have the same OEM look to me. Thought about power steps for a bit but decided against it due to the corrosive slime the DOT puts on the roads here in the winter. I mentioned this in another post somewhere and a member posted that he had power steps in an area that treats the winter roads in a similar fashion and had no adverse effects from it. So who knows?
  5. I press the lower button first, then the upper button to open the tailgate like was shown in the video (good one at that). With a little practice you get the hang of it. Not hard at all.
  6. "By the way, which one's Pink?" Great song. edit - Not enough coffee this morning. The quotation is from "Have a cigar" As for the original topic, so far no leaks with my rig.
  7. I say test drive them all and see what you think. I've got a loaded 21' 3.0 and have been extremely pleased with it so far. Tows my 5K lb. boat like a dream. My overall fuel economy is ~22.6 mpg. Yes, you will eventually have to have the oil pump belt replaced at 150,000 miles. Yes, you have to add DEF from time to time (not a big deal really). I suspect from my past experiences that the resale on a 3.0 will be worth more than its gas counterparts. Something to consider. A 6.2/10 speed combo would be great fun for sure. I just didn't want to feed that beast.
  8. I just took my truck/boat/trailer to the nearest truck stop scales yesterday and here are the results. Steering Axle Weight: 3,300# Drive Axle Weight: 2,940# Tongue Weight: 707# Trailer Axle (2) Weight: 4,120# Total Combined Weight: 11,067# Someday I will measure the rear sag loaded vs. unloaded but visually the truck looks level. The truck tows this load easily. OP, good to hear bags are working. Seems like a much less expensive solution vs. having a new trailer built.
  9. This is the TPMS tool I bought and it worked like a champ. No affiliation with the merchant. https://www.ebay.com/itm/254837915103
  10. Very true. The picture could be exaggerating the condition. A tape measure will prove helpful.
  11. +1000 on the trailer tongue weight. I tow my boat that weighs ~4K and the sag is minimal. I haven't measured it yet but just eyeballing it looks good. Your trailer wasn't built properly for your boat. I'll attach the latest picture of my boat/trailer attached to my truck. I doesn't show the truck but you'll see what a properly built trailer looks like. D65C0CD5-506A-4792-8BB5-48B00FB51C26_1_201_a.heic
  12. I test drove a Denali and it was a very nice truck. I ended going with an AT4 CP for a few reasons. #1) I live in Montana and didn't want low profile tires. Been through that with my last two German cars and it's a pain to have to dodge potholes. Sure I still try to dodge them but I have less of a chance at bending a wheel with more rubber. And then there's the off-road aspect. #2) Personal preference only, but I just didn't care for all of the chrome on the Denali. #3) The powered steps were great on the Denali. But with the slime they use to de-ice the roads up here I didn't see them lasting.
  13. The gear oil may have worked well I just got spooked by the new sounds coming from my rear differential. Appreciate your response and demeanor.
  14. I wasn't anything proprietary but rather information available from Amsoil at the time. It explained some of their testing methods. I seem to recall an "8-ball" test or something similar. As stated, I had good results when I used Amsoil in my 12V Cummins (Marine DIesel). When I used Amsoil's synthetic differential lube (80w-90 if I remember correctly) the rear end made noises that it never made prior. I added their limited slip additive and it still made some noise. So I dumped it and went back to Mobil1 and the rear end was quiet like it was before. I still have some of that Amsoil diff lube in my shop. I spoke with a good friend who was also an Amsoil enthusiast at the time (he may still be) and he had the exact same result with the exact same product. The experience made me question my faith in their products. As for why I'm not using it in my 3.0, I've got a lifetime BTB warranty. I want no excuse for a warranty denial in the case of a catastrophic engine failure. I'm certainly not suggesting that using Amsoil would cause such a thing. I just don't want to stray from the manufacturers maintenance specs. I even purchased an oil change plan at my dealer so there's no question from the warranty company should something happen. Amd this is from a guy who has always changed his own oil for the last 40+ years.
  15. Is Amsoil really DexosD spec approved? Or is it Amsoil telling you it meets the spec? I wouldn't risk my warranty on an oil that wasn't DexosD rated. And for the MLM crowd, I've been down the Amsoil path. Used it for quite a while in my Cummins with good results. I had a different experience with their synthetic diff fluid that they said was rated to the applicable SAE spec. A friend with a PowerStroke had the exact same experience. When I drilled down it turned out they were using their own testing methods to validate their oils. I heard the spiel about the cost of getting an industry standard certification, blah, blah, blah. I'll go with actual DexosD rated oil, thank you very much. If Amsoil actually is DexosD rated, then I apologize in advance.
  16. Are these still for sale?
  17. I installed the Tailgatefix hitch lockout switch last month. Works as advertised. Hopefully it proves to be durable.
  18. Mine has the same "warped & hanging" condition. I'm going to replace the bumper anyway so I decided to not worry about it. Shouldn't look like that on a new vehicle though.
  19. I think they look great for a stock combo.
  20. While I liked the Ford F-150 Platinum & limited models, I thought the all digital dash could really benefit from a different graphic design. I've had all digital displays in some German cars that really looked high tech, because they were. Also the 12" display has a plain Jane baby blue type hue to the display. They could really dress this up with some better graphics too. I wish I could have got a Powerboost option in my AT4.
  21. I drove mine back to Montana from Coeur d'Alene on I90. Did over 55 mph but didn't really load the engine, especially coming over the pass. Smooth and gradual acceleration. Tried to vary speed as much as the conditions allowed. I'll bet your going to be extremely pleased with the new truck. I know I am.
  22. Ford makes a very nice truck!
  23. I shopped both Ford & GMC and ended up buying GMC. I would have been happy with the Ford too. Didn't look at Ram, been there done that (I still have one). I have grown to like the GMC interior. It's laid out very well. Is it class leading, no. But the rest of the truck is what I like better than the competition. Ram/Dodge, to me at least, is like that 40 year old girlfriend that looks like she's 25. Until you wake up one morning and your laying next to grandma. They just don't age well. At least that has been my experience.
