  1. Good possibility it's the oil pickup tube o-ring. Wouldn't be the first one. And I am sure it won't be the last one.
  2. Could be a bad coolant temp sensor. Did your mechanic diagnose everything related to the operation of the fan. Or is he just guessing?
  3. Try switching the left and right lights and see if the problem follow the new light. If it does the the new light is junk. If it doesn't then its in the wiring. The new light isn't a Dorman is it?
  4. That screw fits into a slotted hole. Take your e torx bit and loosen the screw from the bottom just enough to slide it in the slot. Once you slide it to the bigger part of the slot it will fall out.

  6. Some of the Saturns use to have a lot of problems with low coolant sensors. One of the fixes was to remove the overflow bottle and turn it upside down and shake it.

  9. No! don't pull any floats don't want to over work it. Its not a work truck just an LT. Anyway I haven't been to a parade since 1962. I use it to test batteries. I will a buy new battery and let it set until it goes dead. Then I buy another battery. When I get the results from all of these dead batteries I will post the results of which one is the best. As for wax I use Beacon Vinyl Floor Wax.
  10. A 2 year old truck with a 110,000 on the clock is not lightly used ( might be considered well maintained). Normal driving miles is between 12,000 and 15,000 miles a year. I have an 2009 that has 3000 miles on it. That would be considered lightly used.

  12. Yes. But when you do this you have to use common sense. Make sure your brakes are good and able to hold at those RPMs and make sure you are no where near something that you could run into in case your brakes let go. And you might have someone standing near the truck so they could hear where the noise is coming from.
  13. What happens when you power brake it around 2000 to 3000 RPMs? I would try that and have someone listen under the hood. Also check and see if you fan is hitting the shroud.
  14. With aftermarket quick struts they use one weight capacity spring and one strut. At the factory you might have 10-15 different combination. And that would depend on what options would come with the truck. And those combination were endless. So that is the reason for so many different combinations. If it were mine and there wasn't a load of miles on the truck where the springs are sagging. Then I would just keep the old springs (keep the old trim height) and put new struts in and try and keep it as original as possible. But that is an individual choice.

  16. How was the seal surface on the converter? Sometimes you will get a wear grove from where the seal contacts and rides that will cause the leak.

  18. Don't know if the dealership has check or not. But when going thru a curve the body will lift a little and can stretch a harness or tug on connector. Unless they lengthen the harnesses when they installed every thing. Also Big tires and lifts put a lot of stress on the hubs. Could be losing signal from hubs. Just guessing. If the dealer ship (that works on them every day and does the installation) can't figure it out with hands on. It is kind of hard for us when we can't even see the truck.

  20. My understanding was so the spark plug would transfer the correct amount heat that it was designed for.
  21. Always OEM. GM and other manufacturers spend millions of dollars developing and testing to get the correct spark plugs for each individual engine application. How much do you think other spark plug manufacturers spend on developing and testing each individual engine application. Or do you think they just try and duplicate the OEM plugs? One thing comes to mind. When I started to work at GM in the early 60s I started on the motor line. One of the first thing they stressed was to torque the plugs to the correct specs.. If the torque was not correct it could change the heat range as much as 2° in either direction.
  22. Check out this site. Their chart says that transmission is a 99 model year. Maybe that trans wan't the original for the suburban. Or they are jerking you around. What was wrong with your trans?   23. Filled mine up with gas today. First time I have put gas in it since July. NO! I don't get that good of milage. I just don't drive it that much.
