  1. Hey y'all I have a 2004 Silverado 2500hd, finally got her lifted to the size I wanted. Current tire size is stock had 305s on 17s prior to the lift was thinking I could squeeze some 35s and a 17 wheel I don't mind the tires sticking out a bit but I also remember the 33s rubbed at first until I leveled it out.. any suggestions? Pics? Lmk what you think or experienced before making your decisions. Thank yallun advance!
  2. Picked up a 1996 2500 2wd silverado. Currently has LT245 75 R16s I have a set of LT265/70R18 on rims from a 2015 silverado 2500. Is there a website or someplace i can see if these will fit my pickup? I appreciate all the help you all can give.
  3. Currently have my 2020 Gmc sierra 1500 with a build date of 09/2019 at the dealer with 2kmiles on it. Battery was dead one morning. After jump starting had check engine light and brake antilock system issue sent to my email. Truck would not hold a charge after leaving it on for a good 30 min. Its been at the dealer for 3days now.
  4. I have a 2003 yukon sle 2wd. The radio, windows, gauges on right side of the dash all stop working. The abs, tc and air bag lights come on. Now if you press the brake the radio and windows work. The gauges sometime come back on. The vehicle runs good now stalling issues or anything. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas what could cause this.
  5. On my 2015 Silverado Crew Cab 2WD, I currently have the RC 2.5 inch spacer leveling kit with all stock shocks. I am wanting to replace all 4 shocks with Bilstein 5100s. Does anyone have experience combining these shocks with the spacers from RC? I would also like a little more ground clearance. Nothing too crazy, just a little more aggressive look than the stock 2WD height with a leveling kit. Trying to decide if I take the spacers out and go with the RC 3.5 inch suspension lift with upper control arms, remove the spacers and go with Bilstein 5100 on the highest setting all around, or simply replace all shocks with 5100 and keep the spacers up front. Just trying to figure out what will get me the look I want and also be the most mechanically sound so I don't cause any weird issues with ball joints, etc. Any help would be awesome. Thanks!
  6. Selling my Eibach Pro Truck Lift Kit with coils, struts and shocks. Unopened direct from manufacturer with warranty. I am hoping for $400 but I am willing to negotiate a little. Located in Houston TX. PM for more info and Ebay listing.
  7. Looking to lift the front end of my 06 GMC Sierra 1500 2WD to lessen some of the factory rake. I have about a 3.5in difference from the back to front. Looking for about 2-2.5in of lift in the front. Any suggestions on what i can do to get the lift and if you have any product recommendations that would be great. I don't mind paying a little extra for something of good quality. Thanks!
  8. I have a 2008 1500 with a 3:42 w/G80, anti drum brakes. I want to go to 3:73 rears. The diff had the spacer break and cause case and bearing damage. I changed the bearing and re shimmed. I want to replace the entire axle with an 3:73 ratio. I was wonder what years models will be an direct swap. Will some earlier years work??
  9. I just bought an '18 2WD 1500 Denali. I'm not liking the way it sits so I am considering either a 2.25" leveling kit on the front or a 4" lift. For those with a lift, did it make the ride substantially rougher? Any pics or recommendations are welcome.
  10. I just bought my first newish truck, being the 2014 Silverado 2wd z71 lt. It’s got the crew cab with 5.3l under the hood. I’m currently stationed at ft Stewart ga. Im just looking for some help or some advice on some upgrades I’d like to do to this truck and which products might be the best. - I’d like to change the headlights and fog lights from stock. - Put a leveling kit and some new (bigger) a/t tires on it and not sure what size being 2wd. - Change to an aftermarket air intake. - Do something about the shitty stock speakers (without Bose). Wether it be new door speakers and sub(s). Or be just subs and have a separate amp just for door speakers. Do I need a processor to hook up to stock 8” head unit. - How do I add any app or navigation to this stock 8” head unit - Exhaust? - How to get more performance from the truck. Anything would help, Thanks
  11. Hello, Tonight on my way home I had the 4wd light flash periodically in my 2wd 99 Chevy Silverado 1500. I am totally clueless as to why this would happen as I figured that it would be disabled since I don't have a transfer case. Any ideas or suggestions?? Thanks

  13. I have recently purchased a 2018 silverado custom 2wd and it has the RPO code (GU6) rear end. I am trying to find information or aquiring and installing a RPO code (g80) eaton automatic locking rear dif. I know that g80 is a standard on some trim packages and mine did not come with it from what i can tell based on glove compartment codes. I cannot seem to find one for sale anywhere or information or videos of someone swapping them out or even having the same question as me. I have also considered a torsen style differential as well but again i do not know enough to start searching for one to buy. Any information on this topic is greatly appreciated

  15. I am currently replacing the entire brake system on my 1995 GMC Safari SLX 2WD after my brakes failing after a brake fluid flush/change in which I found motor oil or something of the sort in the master cylinder, My only problem is finding a new ABS Unit, Kelsey Hayes RWD Antilock brake system. I was just wondering if i can fit an ABS from a newer vehicle or another vehicle from similar years because it is ridiculous trying to locate the same one. I know the GMC astro and GMC safari vans between the years 1988-1995 have the same unit but surely another unit will still do the same job without any problems. Also is it actually necessary to replace the ABS unit because of oil damage to rubber components because im not sure on if oil will contaminate the ABS. Any help would be much appreciated !
  16. jacked up the rear of my 2016 4wd suburban lt truck has been in 2wd for about 50 miles shut traction control off put in drive gently hit the gas rear wheels did not spin front wheels were pulling car forward As soon as I felt the pull I was surprised and glad it did not pull the car off the stands I wanted to use the rear axle to grind down some rotors by attaching them to the lugs so they would spin and then use my grinder. Anyone know why the front wheels were pulling? Thanks,
  17. New here. I have a 2010 Black Silverado Ext Cab 5.3 2WD. It has 23,600 miles on it. It has a Linex bedliner and a new style step bumper. Other than that it is completely stock. However I am just starting to make some changes... I just modified the exhaust (youtube video if interested). I am about to get new 22" tires (Nexen Roadian HP) and wheels (Texas Edition) and sell the stock 20s. I added a 2" leveling kit. And finally, I am about to install a new double din, components in the front, 2-ways in the back and a kicker subwoofer under the rear passenger seat...
  18. All, I am looking into getting a 2006 Silverado 2500HD 2wd LT with the 6.0. It's a Single cab long bed work truck. I pulled the VIN info and found that it has always been in Tucson and Cali. The truck has no rust (as to be expected). The only noticable problem is the Oil Pressure Sensor seems to be dead, (easy $50 fix). Anyhow, I have never worked with or on a 2500 before, and would like to know what I should look for before purcasing the truck. Also, what do you all think is a good price for a truck like this? I am gonna be using this truck for slight hauling and pretty much daily driving.
  19. (Sorry for making another thread on something that may have been answered somewhere else, I had tried the search feature for this specific question in a couple formats but couldn't quite find anything. Perhaps I was searching with the incorrect format/tag words.) After going through the forums, it seems as though most people have 2-2.5in of rake, whereas my measurements show a difference of 3-3.1 inches in rake. Is it more common for the 4x2's to have a higher back-end? If so, why might that be?? Or could it be due to measuring at the time of an almost empty gas tank? I wouldn't think it'd make an inch of height difference. Any help/information would be greatly appreciated.
  20. Will Bilstein 5160 fit on my 2006 Silverado RWD with a 3inch fabtech already installed in any way?
  21. I have a 2000 GMC Sierra 2wd ext cab with 134,000 miles on it. My buddy has a corvette that he just put a cam in, thus he has his stock cam. Would I be safe to put this cam in my truck without a tune? I want to put headers and some other mods on it before I get the tune, so it would be a month or two before I got it.
  22. OK, here we go. Grumpy Bear gave me the motivation to do a build thread. First, some background - I ain't no "spring chicken," more like 71 years old. Owned stick shift 4wd Chevies most of my life, then a few years ago took a detour to a 4 dr. Jeep Wrangler. Guess you can't "teach an old dog new tricks," - I hated to drive the damned thing - like I was locked inside one of those CATSCAN boxes - major claustrophobia. A few weeks ago, browsing the lots at Tipotex, Chevrolet, notice a base model WT, 2 door regular cab, with G80 locking differential, and not much else. To make a long story short, traded in the Wrangler, offered $4,000 off the list price, and they gave me more for the Jeep than what the Chevy cost. I would've liked 4wd, but, hey, I'm retired, on a fixed income, and wan't really wanted to cough up the extra $7,000-10,000 ordering a new one would cost. I've got a pretty basic 2wd, that I'm going to turn into a "desert runner." Already, I've replaced to stock 255/70 highway tires, with BF Goodrich KO2 AT, LT255/75x17 load range C. This is a truck, right? No P-rated tires. I wanted the stronger 3 ply sideways for caliche ranch roads - less chance of a puncture. Next, have a in bed spare tire carrier on the way. Have to get that tire off from underneath the bed. Ever crawl under a vehicle during a dark rainy night on a dirt road? Also, an underslung tire picks up lots of road debris, and could be hard to lower, or may even be flat when put to use. The front end represents a more complicated issue and I don't know how to proceed. No spacers! I'm interested in wheel travel. Just changing the shock seems to be a complicated process as removing the spring is something I don't want to tackle. Thinking of a complete coil-over-shock such as Rancho Quick Lift or Fox. I've got to check on what kind of "bolt-in" and other adjustments may be needed. Regardless, here's some pics.
  23. Does anyone know what a Power Plug is located on the bottom of the dash beside the steering column on my 2005 Silverado 1500 2WD Ext Cab? The truck runs and drives with it unpluged. Thanks
  24. I was wanting to level up the front of my truck so that it no longer had the "rake" look. I have done my research on leveling kits (coil spacers) and the drawbacks seem to outweigh the benefits. I was wondering if installing Bilstein 5100 shocks in the front would do the job. I appreciate any feedback. Thanks
  25. I'm new to this forum, and would like to know about converting a 2002 c2500hd to 4 wd. It has a regular cab short bed with the 6.0 vortex I don't know the tranny type. I would like to know what I would all need to do to convert it to a 4 wheel drive truck. I do not own it yet, but am looking to buy it. I own an older Chevy truck that I did a rolling frame swap on it so I know what I am doing I just haven't done a 2wd to 4wd conversion. And would I need to change the computer in it.
