I'm avg 12.3 mpg in the city.

Thats dang good mileage, I'd be happy with that. I get 18mpg with my Vmax.. I'm still happy with that.

I average 19.5mpg with a mix of city/highway driving.

I get 24mpg on the highway.

Mine is an '05 sierra z71 w/ 5.3

I typically keep it @ 1500rpm or less. 1500rpm is 62mph in my truck.

I also pull off softly from traffic lights/stop signs.

Terry,

Did you get the conversion just ny switching the EVIC or did you calculate it? If so, did you use US, or Imperial gallons. Myself, I have never come close to 24 MPG, but also never really drive only 100 either - this may be why.

Is that Imperial gallons (4.5L) or US gallons (3.8L)?

EDIT: Looks like I should have refreshed the page before posting, silly work side tracking me.

I converted to Imperial gallons.....4.54 litres equals 1 imperial gallon..

So still not that bad, about 20mpg with cruise set at about 60mph.

I have been doing mainly in town driving with mine and found that if I am in traffic under 45mph that I push the tow button and end up getting better mileage. Right now sitting at 17.3 in town which I am happy with....5.3l with 20" wheels

Not bad at all! :D My last trip camping a couple of weeks ago on back roads averaging about 50-55mph I got about 23.5mpg. I was quite happy and that was the back loaded with camping gear.

That's good fuel economy. I get about 13mpg city to 15mpg highway but I don't drive sensible and I have my DOD disabled. Towing my trailer I get an incredible 8mpg. I heard though the new 6.0/6.2L with 6 speed get pretty good fuel economy. My old 5.3L used to get good mileage as well.

Oh I know...it does totally depend on how you drive....if I push the truck I will lose the mpg for sure...

P.S. Love the tow bar on your truck. :D
