Your treatment would depend on the depth of the scratches. If they're down to bare metal, you're looking at touch-up paint for a cheap fix or professional work if you want it back to the prior appearance.

+1...key scratches can be a biooootch to fix. You need to find out who/how/why they keyed your wife's car! It may be worth claiming it on the insurance and just paying the $250-$500 deductible and have it done right. These claims do not go against you.

 

Any touch up paint or wax pen is going to be noticeable.
