Need Bed Liner Advice And Approximate Cost

I originally got a quote for installation of a Rhino liner at $425, $475 "over the rail". That was for a standard bed, but I ended up with a LOOOOONG bed. :sigh: About how much will that add to the cost?

Aslo, what does "over the rail" mean? Do they coat just up on top of the rail, or does it come down on the outside of the body a bit, or what?

If anyone has pictures of their installs, I'd appreaciate that too. I want to get a bed liner in her ASAP.

Thanks!

Over the rail = where the bed caps would go. I did mine over the rail because that area is easily scratched. I'm not sure about long bed but mine cost 450 total for a short bed. It looks great.

My longbed was already sprayed when I bought it, but I can't imagine there would be much of any cost difference. Time and material would change very little. The hardest part of the process is the prep of the truck, if they charge anything extra, I would bet its less than 50 bucks more.

Excellent. If it is less than $100 more, I can get it done right away. Well, I could do it anyway and piss my wife off :sigh:

I have had both Line-x and Rhino.....hands down Liine-x is better. Better texture, less slippage, less easily gouged and damaged, did not fade nearly as bad, and just looked better.

I woould never do Rhino again....plus the guy was a jerk. I asked for UNDER the rail and they sprayed OVER the rail and wanted to change me the extra $75 for the extra work. I told the goofball that I wanted a new truck and I refused to pay anything for the entire job...then he said he would have the bed rails repainted. Soo, who would pay for the rental car while I had the car in the shop??? We went round and round for almost three hours and I finally started to call the cops, since he would not give me the truck without payment.....

He then agreed to charge me $225 for the whole job if I would just leave...I said ok, but I wanted the warranty included....he reluctantly agreed....

I am about as dissatisfied with the quality of the entire job as I am with the dipstick who managed the shop...give me a LINE-X!!

Sorry for venting...

WOW! No, that's OK. I like to hear bad with the good. You are the first person that's said anything bad about Rhino though. Maybe I should just consider a drop-in instead?

We do have a Line-X dealer here in St. Louis. What's the cost of Line-X vs Rhino?

Thanks!

My Line-x cost $420, however, I did get a 20% discount because I went through the dealer I bought my truck from.

Maybe I should ask my dealer if they work with 'em. I know there's a Line-X installer in St. Louis, but I didn't catch where they were.

Thanks guys!

I have to chime in as another who does not like Rhino... I much prefer LineX. I've seen trucks with Rhino where the bed liner was completely worn through, but my experience with Line-X has been that it's almost impossible to damage it unless you're specifically trying to damage it.

I had Line-x in my 07 long bed. I liked it but it cost me over $500 for under the rail.

My 09 is a ECLB like yours and I went with a Penda drop in liner this time. Less then $250 and I'm very happy.
