How can I tell if the factory navigation would work in my truck? just cross the part # and VIN #? Thinking of doing this, just wanting to make sure. Thanks

I dont know if you are still thinking about this but I am a nav specialist for GM and FOrd and can tell you that it doesnt matter what the truck model is, I have a kit that will work for you and is fully factory integrated.

I sell it for 1499.00 complete with everything needed and has the DVD built in. So you can watch it while in park or get an inmotion module to watch it while driving. I have at least 150 different gm navigation installations under my belt and am a certified gm programming tech.

Im here if you need my help

Thanks

Hello GDelgado,

I have an 09' Silverado Hybrid. It has NAV and a dealer installed backup camera with the rear view mirror screen as I was told GM won't sell the factory installed backup cam that displays on the NAV screen. I would enjoy the larger screen. I was wondering if your expertise would enable me to set it to display there? I was also wondering if I could unblock the NAV destination page while moving without installing a lockpick mod or if you had some similiar devise. My desire is to add a front camera, unblock the nav destination page, unblock bluetooth, and I may add a lockpick anyway because I may want to control my ipod via the radio/steering wheel controls. I have had Coastals Lockpicks on my Prius for 3 years and they are good products and I have never had any issues with them. However, they are expensive and they make you buy much more features in each package than you really may want. They intentionally group the lockpicks that way I am sure. Let me know if I may be able to bypass some expense and find an easier way to achieve my goal. Thanks!

I need your help since you are so knowledgable. I installed replaced my radio with a factory nav. The only problem is there is a line through the GPS on the screen and the arrow does not point in the right direction. Also, do I need a VSS kit??? PLease HELP!!! Went to the dealership and they did not know

You need to run a wire from the back of the nav unit over and connect to the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) wire above the e-brake pedal on the drivers side. You can buy the wire or kit off of ebay.

Without doing this your nav is only working off of satellites and it will only give approximate locations.

Mel, I know you posted this ages ago, but did you ever get answers on how to hook up the rear view cam to display on the NAV screen. Thanks in advance!
