hello guys my story is abit baby but to make it short this one guy wont stop saying duramax,sierra...etc sucks,-.- and that the best motor ever invented is the Cummins bye dodge, can any1 help me gatther up good information for GM, iv went on youtube gathering good videos about teste about trucks, like pickuptrucks.com and more any add ons, thx

Cummins was not invented by Dodge, and if you want to have fun with him, tell him the Dodge truck is nothing more than a low quality shipping crate for the Cummins.... LOL

the other thing is that cummings is heavy ,to heavy for the front end of the truck

my brother in law has an 06, 3500 he has had to replaced the front end twice already

Now that is funny.

 

The Cummins is a powerful diesel capable of superb longevity. The Duramax is generally mated to an Allison tranny which IMO is better than anything Dodge bolted up to. Some of the NV gearboxes are stout, but they will grendade long before the Allison. If you look at the resale price of a Dodge diesel and a GM, GM always commands the higher price. The used car values are not dictated by the manufacturer but rather the markets perception of value. To me a perfect truck would be a GM chassis with a Cummins Engine, Allison tranny, and Ford differentials. The Duramax can do everything the Cummins does as far as I can tell, and do it just as long.

Thanks. I am not a fan of Cummins at all, but I must admit the late 90's 24valve HO mated to a six speed was one sweet sounding and pulling truck. Almost 2 different engines empty and loaded.

 

Other than that, DMAX for me all the way.
